Jujutsu Kaisen is one series that has spread its fame in both anime and manga. Whether it is a new episode or the latest chapter, every fan is on their toes at all times. Regardless of how much criticism one might have about it and with no care of just how captivating it can be, most fans find themselves coming back for one single reason. No one knows what’s coming.
Gege Akutami is notorious for constructing a story that has twists and turns every two chapters. However, it is these twists and turns that become both the bane and boon of the flow.
One of the things that has since kept the fans gripped to it is the fate of Gojo Satoru. With a constant will they – won’t they, the uncertainty of his death remains a topic of concern for many. However, Akutami might just have hinted at exactly that.
The Return of Gojo Satoru is Imminent
Chapter 236 of Jujutsu Kaisen is the most infamous part of the entire series. It holds the final sequence we ever see of Gojo Satoru being alive. Ever since then, fans have been going back and forth about whether or not his parting from the series was permanent or just Gege Akutami’s way of making the fans surprised and saddened. The story has so forth progressed, with the battle against the King of Curses still ongoing. While many would argue that it is a long stretch at this point, the mangaka may be working towards a much-awaited rematch.
The upcoming Volume 26 of Jujutsu Kaisen will hold chapter 236 in it, making it clear as to why is it perhaps one of the most significant volumes of the series. With regard to this, the cover of the volume also happens to be of Gojo.
However, there is more to it than just that. In the volume, there is an exclusive artwork by the mangaka that gives another look at the iconic character.

The artwork features the sorcerer who was once regarded as the strongest. Curiously enough, the piece mirrors Gojo’s final scene as well. Where he lay lifeless in front of Sukuna with his body in two halves. However, there is one difference, his eye is wide open and there seems to be an ominous glow surrounding it.
Jujutsu Kaisen is Setting Up Sukuna vs Gojo Again?
The sketch has one thing very evident, Gojo Satoru’s eyes are far from lifeless. Although there are two angles that can be considered here, the image could be Gojo’s reaction right as he witnesses Sukuna’s World Cutting Slash. On another hand, it could also be his breath of life. There has been constant speculation with regard to his return, so to theorize the same would not be as far-fetched, especially now.
Were he to return, there is a strong possibility for a battle to be reignited between Gojo and Sukuna. The current flow of the manga sees the King of Curses battling against Miguel alongside Maki Zenin, Yuta Okkutsu, and Itadori Yuji. The very thought of Gojo’s return could bring this franchise up manifolds.
The first fight between the two already had the audience biting their nails, so if there was another, there would be no telling just how far Gege Akutami’s creativity might go.
