The developers have the advantage of the rich history of the Star Wars franchise to pick and choose from. Some activities can be easily adapted to the video game format and the developers promised that this experience will push the fans to the edge of their seats.

Ubisoft is about to give the gaming community a new entry point to revisit one of the best eras in Star Wars history. It can be daunting to develop an original story set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, let alone introduce a new character not involved with the Skywalker Saga. Navid Khavari, the narrative director has high hopes by giving the fans a worm’s eye view through Star Wars Outlaws.

Julian Gerighty is the creative director of Massive Entertainment and took the time to sit down and speak about how lively the galaxy is in a recent interview.

“Every two, three minutes there’ll be something that’s happening, whether it’s an ambush or the empire arresting some civilians or getting into combat with some criminal syndicates. And it’s up to you whether you want to engage or not,”

The developers ensured there would be no dull moment or dead air for the gaming community while exploring different regions. The Empire will also be on heightened alert whenever Kay does something naughty and will be gunned down similarly to how law enforcement hunts the protagonists of each Grand Theft Auto game.

It is fascinating to see how far game development has come and seeing non-playable characters do something that could affect a player’s journey makes the experience feel more authentic. It is comparable to how the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim feels lived in.

Ubisoft Is Not Taking Any Chances With Star Wars Outlaws

The criminal element intrigued the developers and this project will explore it even more. The tensions between Episodes 5 and 6 are high and Khavari wanted to show a different side of the galaxy and give more significance to obscure characters like Jabba the Hutt and his clan.

Fans have high expectations for this project and early previews feature different gameplay but some fans remain skeptical. The early gameplay footage may not be the final product but fans hope it is not far off what will be released.

It seems like the original Star Wars project combines the world-building from the GTA franchise, which is not a negative attribute. Perhaps future games will follow this structure.

Ubisoft wanted to show a different side of the franchise and the surroundings to augment the experience with unscripted activities or events. The developers have only scratched the surface.
