In the most recent follow-up to the Spider-Man (2018) and Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) games, Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Mary Jane take on different missions to eliminate each new threat popping up for NYC: including Kraven the Hunter and Venom.
Yet, the most recent update to the game titled ‘Spider-Man 2’ took a slightly different turn as Peter Parker handed over the superhero mantle to Miles Morales just to rest down for a while. And as unexpected as it was to the creators, most fans are loving and supporting this new update.

Insomniac’s third installment of the Spider-Man games for PlayStation 5 has been as immense of a success as the previous ones. Not only has it become one of fans’ favorite superhero video games to be created to date, but it has also been quintessential for all the stories told about the web-slinger.
In the game, fans have seen their favorite superheroes evolve and mature with time and with each new villain that they fight, with the game getting more and more exciting with each new update.
However, the most recent update of the video game has opted for a slightly different road where Peter Parker hands down his superhero mantle to Miles Morales since he needs a break and wants to settle down with MJ for a while.
And as unexpected as it was, most fans are in complete support of this unseen turn. Taking to X to share their opinion, X user @EARTH_1610_616 extended his support to the update, saying:

I think people are reading into this too much. The quote reiterated the ending, in which Peter takes a break to get his life together while Miles is the primary Spidey. But nowhere in the quote is it suggested that this is the actual, permanent status quo of SM3.
