The second season of Loki has impressed the audience all across the world. The Disney+ series has given a gleam of hope that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has great potential. However, that is seemingly not enough for fans. Despite the show’s great response, fans continue to miss the golden age of the MCU before superhero fatigue changed everything.
MCU made its presence with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man movie which raised the bar for the latter films in the franchise. It continued to evolve with different characters being incorporated in live-action. One of the characters is Loki, the God of Mischief, whose popularity led to the Loki series.
Loki 2 is a Great Success for Marvel Studios!
In the changing era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not many projects are able to attain as much success as the projects in the golden age of MCU. However, Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki series has managed a record-breaking performance for the studio.
The finale episode of Loki Season 2 was watched 11.2 million times globally in its first three days on Disney Plus as per Disney Press release. The view figures are 300,000 more than the season’s first episode. This feat has made it Disney+’s second most-watched finale in 2023. Notably, every episode of the series managed to surge past 11 million views in its debut week.
These figures are quite promising for the streaming platform as well as for the studio given the hype of superhero projects nowadays.
Audiences are showing superhero fatigue which is being represented through the utterly disappointing box-office numbers. While audiences wait for good superhero movies, fans are rewinding their memories!

While Hiddleston’s series has surely met with a great positive response that showcases the studio’s potential, fans continue to look back at the previous MCU which featured original Avengers like Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and Black Widow among many others. Even the Avengers era assembled our lead protagonists to make a huge team that eventually faced off against Thanos and its force.

It’s crazy how “all in” I was on this ride for years. Now I just watch these movies flop each and every summer and it’s just sad.

Having kicked off with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man movie series, it continued to expand with many comic characters being brought to life. Thus, the era of Avengers started to form with Avengers: Endgame being the latest and last installment released up to this point.
That movie became the end and beginning of a new era, which seemingly could have been the time when fans felt an adrenaline rush. While many projects are lined up for the future, it is yet to see whether it can bring back the hype the old MCU previously created. Meanwhile, Loki Season 2 is available on Disney+.
