While Henry Cavill’s Superman has been removed from the timeline, there are worries amongst fans about what the fate of other actors holds. Talking about whether The Flash will be the last we see of Ezra Miller’s portrayal of the super-speedy superhero, a report suggests otherwise. It looks like the Studios want to keep Ezra Miller in the DCU.

According to a report by Variety, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s vision for DCU’s future is a “broad but not blanket reset.” This means that some of the actors will continue doing what they do in the DCU without any changes, including Ezra Miller.

Even though there were calls for removing Miller from the role of Flash completely, nothing of the sort happened. The actor apologized for his uncalled behavior and took part in mental health treatment. Thanks to the actor making amends, Variety reports that some executives at the WB Studios are okay with keeping Miller in the DCU.

When this report was made public by the outlet, fans were furious, and more importantly, confused. They took to Twitter to express that they couldn’t understand why the Studios would want to keep Miller but leave out Henry Cavill and Johnny Depp. Cavill, as we know, recently had to put down his Superman cape as he did not fit into Gunn and Safran’s DCU vision. On the other hand, the Studios dropped Depp from their projects owing to the infamous defamation trial. Even though Depp emerged victorious in the trial, he doesn’t seem to be working with the Studios ever again.

Apart from The Flash, a few other projects are reportedly getting to stay in the new slate including, Aquaman, Shazam!, Blue Beetle, and Peacemaker.

According to yet another report by Variety, studio insiders have never been this excited for a movie’s release since The Dark Knight trilogy. As every DC fan knows that Christopher Nolan’s TDK trilogy starring Christian Bale was widely acclaimed by fans and critics alike. Therefore, the excitement for The Flash matching the excitement for the Batman trilogy seems to be a big deal. The report reads:

“Studio insiders have never been this excited for Warner Bros. superhero movie since The Dark Knight movies. In fact, almost everything about The Flash points to a massive summer sensation.”

This not only puts the expectations of the fans at an all-time high but also has a lot of responsibility. The Flash could be a peek into what the DCU is going to look like under the supervision of Gunn and Safran.

The Flash hits the theatres on June 16, 2023.
