The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Sasha Calle in major roles is nearing its release date as well as Cinemacon premiere. Since it has been touted as a major film that will introduce the multiverse to the DCU and soft-reboot the franchise, there’s a lot of excitement surrounding it.

Fans are also anticipating the cameos that will be a part of the movie. Long ago, it was rumored that Henry Cavill’s Superman was going to be one such cameo. But with his departure and the DCU moving forward with a new man of steel, that possibly isn’t happening anymore. However, a scooper has alleged that there’s still a Superman appearance in the movie.

Henry Cavill’s DC departure shook the fanbase. But months after that reveal, fans hoped that they will get to see their favorite Superman one last time in The Flash before a new actor stepped into the role. However, that doesn’t seem to be happening.

Film scooper Grace Randolph made the DC fandom go haywire when she tweeted that Superman and Batman’s cameos are indeed happening at the end of The Flash film. But the insider stated that the Superman cameo isn’t of Henry Cavill. She said:

“So apparently, there’s a #Batman AND a #Superman cameo at the end of #TheFlash. They are both “retro” and most likely just for fun – big-name actors tho (NOT Cavill). We’ll see if the second cameo leaks when the movie plays at #CinemaCon on Tuesday.”

If this news is true, it will confirm that Henry Cavill is truly out of the DCU, and DC Studios or WBD aren’t considering him even for a cameo. There are also rumors that any references to Zack Snyder’s Justice League have been removed from The Flash as well. Fans have already begun speculating which Batman and Superman could appear in the Ezra Miller-led film.

The DC fandom is busy trying to guess which Batman and Superman Grace Randolph is referring to. Many think that the two retro heroes could be George Clooney’s Batman and Christopher Reeve’s Superman appearing through archived footage. Others think that Brandon Routh could appear as the man of steel as well. As for Batman, fans think WB could use footage of Adam West in The Flash.

Many fans think that WB and DC Studios are making a mistake by supposedly not allowing this last cameo by Henry Cavill to happen. Some think that it could have given fans closure before the franchise soft reboots itself into the DCU. While others think that it will help DC in the long run.

It could leave the door open for Cavill to return later on for major events like Crisis On Infinite Earths, where heroes from various worlds come together to take down a threat. And it will be interesting to see what cameos ultimately get added at the end of The Flash.

The Flash releases on 16 June 2023.
