2024 doesn’t seem to be the year for The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal as not only was his award snubbed at the Golden Globes 2024, but he might also lose an iconic role! Being a part of the Star Wars franchise has its perks and also its disadvantages and Pascal seems to be in the latter.
A recent announcement was made which stated that The Mandalorian and Grogu movie was in the works. With the Star Wars franchise wanting to usher in the newer generation of fans, the movie announcement was the perfect step. The franchise, however, forgot to announce whether Pedro Pascal will be a part of it or not!
Is Pedro Pascal A Part of the Upcoming Mandalorian Movie?
It seems that Pedro Pascal has indeed come a long way in Hollywood. From portraying the role of DEA agent Javier Pena in Netflix’s Narcos to portraying Oberyn Martell in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Pascal has had quite a journey with the world loving the adorable star.
His fame and stardom led him to star in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and it was quite the phenomenon. Killing enemies and babysitting Grogu brought Pascal love from all over the world so much so that a 4th season of The Mandalorian is currently in development! As per Deadline, Lucasfilm announced recently that a new Star Wars film was in the works. The film, titled The Mandalorian & Grogu will be directed by none other than The Mandalorian creator and Iron Man director Jon Favreau!
What the announcement forgot to mention is the fact that there’s no confirmation whether Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as The Mandalorian in the upcoming film or not! It hasn’t been confirmed and we are too far in it now to see another actor take the spot.
It seems that Favreau has something up his sleeves or they would have announced Pascal’s name alongside the movie announcement. With the lack of Game of Thrones actor’s name, Favreau revealed that he has loved telling stories in the rich world of George Lucas.

Jon Favreau Is Quite Excited About The Upcoming Project
After the announcement of the movie, Favreau, who has been working on The Mandalorian series since its inception, revealed that he has loved the world of Star Wars. Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm, also seemed to trust Favreau and Dave Filoni to usher in the newer generation of fans!
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting,” said Jon Favreau.
Kathleen Kennedy stated,
“Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”
Although the hype has been created, fans and the world are waiting for confirmation about whether Pedro Pascal will reprise his role in the movie or not. The upcoming project may suffer some damage if Pascal doesn’t show up in the Mandalorian costume alongside Grogu.
