The 81st Golden Globe Awards has been held, and the best in the world of streaming and movies were awarded. Several high-profile movie stars and Hollywood elites came to grace the show, and many deserving candidates went on to win some major awards in various categories.
One of the highlights of the night was Kieran Culkin’s win for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series for Succession. His acceptance speech cracked up the whole room, and the actor even took a hilarious dig at Pedro Pascal as he received the award.
Kieran Culkin Roasts Pedro Pascal In Hilarious Golden Globes Acceptance Speech
The much anticipated Golden Globe Awards was held in full swing with comedian Jo Koy hosting the event. Many of Hollywood’s much-beloved movie stars came to grace the event. Kieran Culkin won the Best Male Actor for a Drama Series for his incredible performance as Roman Roy in Succession.
In his acceptance speech, he thanked the team behind Succession while also claiming that he never believed that he would ever stand on stage and receive such a prestigious award as the Golden Globes. Culkin also roasted his fellow nominee Pedro Pascal for not getting the award, with Pascal hilariously reacting by pretending to cry. Culkin said (via YouTube)
“Thanks to Succession, I’ve been here a couple of times, it’s nice. But I sort of accepted that I was never gonna be on this stage so this is a nice moment. S*ck it, Pedro! Sorry, (lifts the Award) Mine! Really, Quickly I gotta thank everybody on Succession, Jesse, the writers, the amazing cast…”
Culkin’s win was much deserved as he was the highlight of the final season of the show. His evolution over the four seasons and the maturity he provided to the character was evident in season 4. Culkin went all out as Roman and impressed everyone.
Robert Downey Jr. Praises His Oppenheimer Team in His Acceptance Speech
Robert Downey Jr. went on to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Male Supporting Actor for his role as Lewis Straus in Oppenheimer. The actor, as always, brought on his usual charm and cheekiness in his acceptance speech and entertained everyone with his hilarious one-liners.
In his acceptance speech, he thanked the whole Oppenheimer cast, director Christopher Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas for creating a cinematic masterpiece while also poking fun at people who thought his career needed a restart after his stint at Marvel. He said (via YouTube)
“A sweeping story about the ethical dilemma of nuclear weapons grosses $1 billion dollars, does that track, no. Unless, because Universal went all in on Christopher Nolan to direct Cillian Murphy with Emma Thomas producing, with Emily and Florence and this cast and crew, and help them render a goddamn masterpiece.”

Nolan and Cillian Murphy also went on to win Best Director and Best Actor, respectively, at the Golden Globes. It is a big win for the team of Oppenheimer as the film managed to nab some major awards, which will surely help its chances at the Oscars.
