While Batman has witnessed some of the best comic-book adaptations of all time, most of them have strayed away from his comic-book roots, making them more grounded in reality. This has led to many of Gotham’s Watchful Protector’s iconic feats that went on to define him being left untouched in the realm of live-action.
Even though things might finally change with the upcoming The Brave and the Bold, which will debut under James Gunn’s new regime, it’s highly unlikely that we will ever witness his Fenrir Protocol onscreen.
Batman Once Took Down His Justice League Peers With His Justice Buster
From defeating Darkseid to taking down his evil counterpart from Earth-22, the Dark Knight is unbound in the comics, even though he is just a man in a bat suit. While on paper he is no match for his other Justice League peers, including Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, this didn’t stop him from getting on top of them when needed. In Batman #35 by Scott Snyder, the Bat vigilante is forced to use the Fenrir protocol to take down the entire Justice League after Joker succeeds in infecting them with his Joker virus.
This involved Batman donning the Justice Buster suit, which holds the capability of going toe to toe with each member of the league, as Gotham’s protector proceeds to eliminate them all. To defeat Wonder Woman, he traps her in an illusion by using a magical artifact, and for Flash, he uses a frictionless fluid to knock the speedster down and traps Aquaman in moisture-absorbing foam.
But perhaps the biggest challenge was facing Superman for which Batman had some red sun stored from dead solar systems, because he is Batman, which he uses to take down his best friend.

The Brave and the Bold Is Still a Long Way Ahead
While a live-action adaptation of this plotline seems unlikely for multitudes of reasons, the new DCU might finally witness a Batman who doesn’t shy away from punching someone above his weight. With the first chapter titled God and Monsters, this might be the first time we witness an adaptation that comprises some of his impossible superhuman feats from the comics. Unfortunately, it might be a long weight before we witness that version of the Caped Crusader coming to fruition, as James Gunn confirmed they don’t even have a script ready for the project. Responding to a fan, he stated,
“No. We don’t even have a script yet.”

And for people who aren’t fans of the character’s extreme competence from the comics, DC has us covered, as 2025 will also witness the second chapter in Matt Reeves’ take on the cultural icon.
