DC Studios and Warner Bros finally released the official poster of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and fans are not happy that Amber Heard has been excluded. The franchise has been marred with controversy after Heard and Johnny Depp’s court trial. With the actress’ reduced role in the movie, many fans still demand her character Mera would make it to the poster.
The public indeed gave mixed reactions regarding the high-profile and televised trial. Some showed support for the Pirates of the Caribbean star while others sided with Heard.

Amber Heard’s Mera Has Been Excluded In Aquaman 2 Poster
Aquaman 2’s official social media accounts released the newest promotional poster on Tuesday with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Patrick Wilson’s Orm standing side by side. While the picture definitely looked cool, it raised many eyebrows because of the absence of Amber Heard’s Mera. Check out the poster below:

The fans’ reaction seemed natural, especially to those who loved the flame-haired warrior, because she had been an essential part of the previous movie. Mera is a formidable character with a significant role in protecting Atlantis alongside Aquaman.
Heard’s exclusion in the poster is somehow not very surprising given the controversy she has gotten herself into. Her role in the film has been deliberately reduced, as confirmed by director James Wan via Variety:
“I always pitched this to everyone from the get-go. The first ‘Aquaman’ was Arthur and Mera’s journey. The second movie was always going to be Arthur and Orm. So, the first was a romance action-adventure movie, the second one is a bromance action-adventure movie. We’ll leave it at that.”
Clearly, the studio did not want to risk their project by giving Heard’s character more exposure than needed. There are still many people who would refuse to watch the movie as long as the actress remains a part of it. Removing her from the poster would be the wiser decision.
