After viewers got concerned with the future of the franchise following the controversial She-Hulk scene, this might be the comforting answer everyone needs. The upcoming series also gets a new release date after it halted production for three months, making sure the changes are worth the long wait.

Daredevil: Born Again Will Be “Much Closer” To The Original Series

While speaking with TVLine, actor Charlie Cox revealed that the intensity of Daredevil: Born Again as compared with the Netflix version is “not exactly the same, but much closer, and potentially much improved.”

Vincent D’Onofrio chimed in and proudly remarked how the changes they have made during the creative overhaul have greatly enhanced the quality of the show.

It’s hard to comment because I want to say so much about both the last show and this show, and the change that happened, but in the end, the last few months of work we did was quite intense and written beautifully and directed beautifully. I think it’s as intense as we’ve ever been.”

Cox shared that it is “pretty emotional” to collaborate again with costars Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson.

He said that a lot of their scenes were written in a way that somehow got them reminiscing over the past, and that’s exactly what they have also been doing off-camera. “They are such a heartbeat of the show, and always have been,” he added.

Dario Scardapane now spearheads the series as showrunner, replacing Matt Corman and Chris Ord. The latter duo’s vision for the project reportedly did not impress Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige.

Charlie Cox Responds To Daredevil’s Controversial She-Hulk Scene

Daredevil’s ‘Walk of Shame‘ scene in She-Hulk

It was quite a shocker for many Daredevil fans witnessing the infamous ‘Walk of Shame’ scene in Disney+’s She-Hulk. For the audience, this did not represent the character they loved from the original show. Charlie Cox ultimately addressed this via Digital Spy:

There are things that you do when you’re playing a superhero. There are scenes that you read, and you go, ‘The fans are going to love this. This is knock-out.’ And then there’s stuff like the walk of shame, where you’re like, ‘I don’t know. This could go two ways.’

He was completely aware that the viewers might not like the scene, but he argued that he only tried to match the tone of the show. “The good thing about doing it on something like She-Hulk is, it’s not Daredevil’s show.”

Cox reiterated that it was his job to embrace the tone of the show he is guesting in as an actor. However, after his recent interview above, fans should no longer fret, as Daredevil stays as the Man Without Fear they knew from the beginning.

Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ in March 2025.
