Helldivers 2 which is Arrowhead Game Studios’ release for the year 2024 has been a massive hit from day one. Players are having a great time teaming up with their fellow comrades to save the Super Earth from alien invasion. Many fans also haven’t failed to notice that Helldivers 2 might draw some inspiration in its content style and storyline from the fan-favorite Starship Troopers movie.

However, it looks like users who are playing the game for the first time are having difficulty getting their hands on the game and fighting the extraterrestrial wars. But it seems that the problem doesn’t end here. The new players are also facing difficulty in coping with the veterans of the game and not getting their choice of armaments in the multiplayer game.

Helldivers 2 developer calls out on the game veterans

Helldivers 2 developers have come out to address the issues regarding the experienced players giving a difficult time to the newbies. The CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, Johann Pilestedt, came out to address this via a tweet on X. He urged veterans of the Helldivers game to be welcoming to the new players and help them with heavy weaponry rather than fascism.

“Help new players. Show them the ropes. Fight together. Don’t be a facist,” the tweet read. The tweet also added a clearer call of action to the veterans, “Give the new player the shield backpack and the railgun. You can do without it if you are a true Helldiver.”

Games like Helldivers 2 are meant to be played and enjoyed in a cooperative manner. Therefore, it doesn’t seem fair for the new players to face difficulty in the hands of the experienced players as it is meant to be enjoyed by all.

After Arrowhead Game Studios’ CEO’s tweet, the comments show that many agree with the opinion of Johann Pilestedt. Players are now exchanging their tales of helping newbies in the game.

@DalRew tweeted on X, “a week ago some guy named BiohazardJP joined my match, seen me getting my a** whoopped and when everyone left he stayed in the lobby, refused to leave until I reach lvl 10. He was carrying me through hell and back. I doubt he’s reading it but if he does I hope he has a good day”.

Johann Pilestedt’s tweet has pleasantly turned the tables, and it looks like new players will also be able to have fun while getting their hands on the game.

Helldiver 2 shouldn’t become the next Call of Duty: Warzone

Multiplayer games are fun and have seen a surge in many games coming out with the multiplayer component in the last couple of years. However, one cannot deny the fact that has also caused an upward trend in toxic behavior in the gaming community. Moreover, games like Call of Duty have become well-known in the community for their offensive voice chat and in-game lobbies.

The Call of Duty series has become one of the most popular multiplayer games out there and therefore enjoys a massive player base. New games in the series like COD Warzone attract gamers from all walks of life, including those who take pleasure in spreading negativity.

As the games are very competitive and need team play, experienced players because of their enthusiasm for the game, display toxic behavior on the new players when they do not meet the expectations of their teammates.
