We now have a new entry to this catalog, and it’s one many have been hoping for: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. The very first game from Sucker Punch spawned a series of titles that have become cult classics. For a long time, Sly a big name, appearing besides beloved figures such as Kratos, Nathan Drake, and Sackboy.

The Sly Collection has been available on PS Plus streaming services, but this is limited to select countries. Fans will now be able to purchase, download, and enjoy the first game natively on their PS5s starting June 11. While many were hoping for something more, Sucker Punch already has a lot on its plate, which is affecting the development of current titles.

Fans over on the Sly Cooper subreddit are very happy with this news, and many bring up a good point. Purchasing the game is going to do more than just add a nostalgic classic to your library. It’s common practice for studios to put their older games back into focus when announcing a new title. It enables them to get some extra income from people buying their older games while they wait. With Sly getting some attention, it may be only a matter of time before the inFAMOUS series also gets added to the list.

The first game in the franchise was released in 2009 on the PS3 and was widely praised for being a well-made original superhero story. The latest installment in the series, Second Son, is available to play on PS5, as is First Light, but the first two are still not available. Once all the Sly games are added to the list, we may see Cole McGrath make a comeback.

Considering all the big gaming companies have begun to host their showcases, we can expect the next one from Sony to be a full-fledged State of Play to replace what would have been a major E3 conference.
