My Hero Academia returns to Fortnite: New Skins and Items

Featured Video

The new Fortnite season started about three weeks ago and Epic Games are now adding its first anime collaboration of the season. Popular shonen anime, My Hero Academia, is making its return to Fortnite with three new skins and new/returning items. The skins feature Shoto Todoroki, Eijiro Kirishima, and Mina Ashido with an additional outfit for each. Everything new for My Hero Academia in Fortnite is available now, in-game and in the Item Shop.

What’s new for Fortnite x My Hero Academia?

We already established three new skins for My Hero Academia are now in Fortnite. Each skin has an alternative costume or outfit that calls back to the anime. Todoroki’s skin set is by far the most fleshed out as he also has a mystic item to accompany him in-game. His bundle includes a glider, back blind, pickaxe, emote, and a wrap. Because he has both fire and ice powers in the anime, Fortnite features that in his skin design, especially in the back bling, pickaxe, and glider. If you’re interested in Todoroki’s skin with the back bling, he’s 1,500 V-Bucks. The bundle is 2,400 V-Bucks, 900 V-Bucks more for four additional items (pickaxe, emote, wrap, and glider).

The other two skins, Kirishima and Ashido, do not have as many cosmetics as Todoroki but still have an alternative costume. They both have a pickaxe and back bling but Ashido has an emote called Culture Festival Dance, 500 V-Bucks separately. If you want everything for Kirishima and Ashido (back blings, pickaxes, and the emote), the bundle is 2,800 V-Bucks in the Fortnite Item Shop. Otherwise, each skins is 1,500 V-Bucks with the back bling just like Todoroki.

My Hero Academia Items in Fortnite

The Fortnite x My Hero Academia collaboration does not stop at the skins. New items are now in-game with some returning ones from the previous Fortnite x My Hero Academia collaboration. The new mystic item is the Ice Wall to coincide with the release of Shoto Todoroki. If you know My Hero Academia, the Ice Wall is one of Todoroki’s powers or “quirks” as the anime calls it. The Ice Wall can be used to provide cover, it’s a durable wall that only melts when it’s completely destroyed. Players can find the Ice Wall in All Might Supply Drops, making a return from the previous Fortnite x My Hero Academia collaboration.

The newest mystic item in Fortnite is Todoroki’s Ice Wall

The Ice Wall will be available until the end of the season, November 3. So even after the new My Hero Academia skins leave the shop, the Ice Wall and the All Might Supply Drops will be scattered throughout the Fortnite map.

Another returning item to Fortnite is Deku’s Smash which can also be found in All Might Supply Drops. It’s a strong attack that one-shots anything in its way. Deku’s Smash will only be available until Patch v26.20. Fortnite is currently on Patch v26.10, so players have plenty of time to try out Deku’s Smash mystic item until it goes into the vault again.

Mystic item, Deku’s Smash, is unvaulted for the new Fortnite x My Hero Academia collaboration

The final part of the Fortnite x My Hero Academia is the new quests featuring Deku and Todoroki’s mystic items. Using the mystic items in Fortnite will complete certain quests. All of the quests do not relate back to their mystics, so be sure to read each quest carefully. Completing the quests will reward the player with a boost of XP to get them closer to finishing the Fortnite Battle Pass.

My Hero Academia is back in Fortnite about nine months after their first collaboration. It’s a new season of Fortnite, so it’s unlike the last time the shonen anime was in the game. Fortnite continues dropping collaborations with popular properties and I’m sure more are on the way. What do you think of My Hero Academia’s return to Fortnite? Will you be purchasing any of the new skins? Let us know in the comments!
