Over the many years Fortnite has been around, there have been plenty of collaborations that gamers never expected, as you can now play as characters from Star Wars, Family Guy, Assassin’s Creed, and so many more.

But there is one title that no one ever expected to come to Fortnite, and it is an incredible indie game created by a man called Edmund McMillen. The man in question is the creator of games like Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, Legend of Bum-Bo, and more, and according to a recent Twitter/X response, there could be a future collaboration in the works.

What Information Is There Pointing Towards a Collaboration Between Fortnite and Edmund McMillen?

As stated above, during a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Twitter/X with Edmund McMillen, one fan asked whether or not he had been in contact with Fortnite to discuss a future collaboration with himself regarding some of his games.

He only responded with a rather small reply, stating that they had been in talks. However, we do not know how far he got within the talks or whether or not this collaboration will actually be coming anytime soon.

This, for many reasons, has many gamers on the edge of their seats, as these indie games are some of the best games of recent years, and many gamers have enjoyed the hundreds of hours they have put into them, so having a Fortnite collaboration will be a fantastic experience.

However, there will be some challenges when it comes to this collaboration, as the characters that are involved in these indie games tend to be small and odd-looking, such as Super Meat Boy, which features a red cube of meat, The Binding of Isaac, which has a naked man running around crying, and plenty more.

Even though this would be a rather popular collaboration, it will prove very difficult for Epic Games to create a faithful version of these characters within its game unless they are made into some form of cosmetic item like a backbling, but at that point, is it worth Epic’s time to go through the collaboration for something so small?

Many Gamers Have Already Begun Showing Their Support for This Collaboration

Could we be seeing The Binding of Isaac or Super Meat Boy in Fortnite soon?

So far, the response to this information has been overly positive, as many gamers would love to see a collaboration between these two groups. Gamers have many different ideas on how they see this working out, whether Epic creates a new character skin based on the original games or if it avoids it all together.

One of the main comments that gamers have left regarding this post is the fact that if Fortnite did bring in characters like Isaac from The Binding of Isaac, then they would most likely return to Fortnite just to purchase that skin, which is a good incentive for Epic Games to jump at this chance.

There are those who aren’t necessarily bothered by this announcement, as they either aren’t fans of these indie games or just don’t feel like the collaboration will generate anything worth while, as having a Super Meat Boy backbling just feels rather pointless and reduces the work to nothing more than a backpack.

Until we receive an announcement from either Epic Games or Edmund McMillen, we won’t know whether or not this deal will actually go ahead, but if it does, we can expect a lot of good responses from the gaming community.
