Anne Hathaway has worked hard to establish herself as one of the best actresses in all of Hollywood, as her grace and elegance in every single role have won the hearts and minds of not just fans, but peers as well.
Hathaway is known for her incredible roles in films such as The Princess Diaries, The Dark Knight Rises, Les Miserables, and many more. With that said, Anne Hathaway’s The Idea of You has been haunting fans for a very good reason.
Anne Hathaway’s The Idea of You Has Disturbed Fans For An Incredibly Relatable Reason
The Idea of You portrays a May-December romance centered around Solène (played by Anne Hathaway), a single mother who seizes a second chance at love after a serendipitous encounter at Coachella with Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), the charismatic lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band globally. Directed by Michael Showalter, the film also features performances by Annie Mumolo, Perry Mattfeld, Jordan Aaron Hall, Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham, Vik White, and Dakota Adan.
The trailer for the highly anticipated romantic comedy, The Idea of You, has been unveiled. Adapted from Robinne Lee’s bestselling 2017 novel, the film features Anne Hathaway and narrates the tale of a 40-year-old single mother who discovers herself developing feelings for a 24-year-old international pop star.
The trailer had all the makings of a classic romantic comedy, but some fans took to Twitter and noted how the concept of one’s mother marrying one’s celebrity crush, leading to the deletion of the 400 tweets expressing how attractive he is, undoubtedly warrants a lifetime supply of free therapy and this is something that has haunted so many fans on social media due to how relatable the whole thing is.
i cannot stop thinking about how the concept of ur mom getting ur celebrity crush….deleting the 400 tweets of “he’s so hot” when he becomes ur step parent has to give u free therapy for life https://t.co/YhgTMWLpqh

Anne Hathaway Regrets Her Role In The Witches And Even Apologized For It
Anne Hathaway received criticism for her depiction of the Grand High Witch in the 2020 fantasy comedy The Witches, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Despite embracing the role with a vampy demeanor, her portrayal faced backlash due to concerns that the character’s physical appearance seemed to mock individuals with limb differences.
Following the backlash, the Oscar-winning actress took to social media and addressed her role, issuing a public apology. Expressing her commitment to inclusivity and her strong hatred towards cruelty, Hathaway acknowledged the pain caused by her portrayal of the character. [Via Variety]
“As someone who really believes in inclusivity and really, really detests cruelty, I owe you all an apology for the pain caused. I am sorry. I did not connect limb difference with the GHW when the look of the character was brought to me; if I had, I assure you this never would have happened. I particularly want to say I’m sorry to kids with limb differences. Now that I know better, I promise I’ll do better. And I owe a special apology to everyone who loves you as fiercely as I love my own kids: I’m sorry I let your family down.”
The backlash was warranted as the film ultimately received a poor 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, as it was critically panned in a brutal fashion. Regardless, Anne Hathaway has moved on from such a role and it is certain she will never do such a thing ever again.
