It seems like only yesterday that DCEU entered the silver screen with “Man of Steel” starring Henry Cavill. But eight years have already passed since the release. While the universe was still building its foundation, it wasn’t until “Wonder Woman” that fans realized the worth of DCEU.  “Wonder Woman” was a special movie in many ways. It was the first standalone helmed by a female director, featuring a female superhero in a very, very long time. The film was a super hit and still stands as one of the best DCEU projects. Its success and box office collections were enough to crush many people’s reservations about female heroes.

Such a positive outcome encouraged the franchise to continue with Diana Prince’ adventures and soon, we got the sequel, “1984”. Both the instalments were helmed by the brilliant director Patty Jenkins, known for her unparalleled visions and ideas. She captured the essence of the real Wonder Woman and translated it exactly how the fans wanted. The first part hit the theatres about four years back, followed by its sequel “Wonder Woman 1984” during the last holiday season. Apart from her franchise, Wonder Woman has appeared in three more DCEU movies, the last one being the Snyder Cut.

Amidst the rising euphoria amongst fans for the threequel, Gal Gadot has just dropped a clue to fuel the excitement further.  One of her recent posts indicated a possible return for the DC superhero in another instalment. The clip in the tweet dates back to her time during the first Wonder Woman movie. In the post, she is displaying her passion to continue with Diana’s storyline. While this confirms a lot of things, both Gal and her fans have to wait a little longer.

Considering the rapport between Patty and Gal, and their equation with the franchise, these women will likely team up again for the third instalment. However, this collaboration will take longer as Patty is currently invested in “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” which is slated for 2023. The tireless and zealous director is unstoppable. So, we hope that she retrieves the director’s chair in the DC Extended Universe as soon as her current project wraps up.

Those awaiting the third film got to enjoy some of Wonder Woman’s savage moments in “Justice League: Snyder Cut”. This wait will fly in no time as the upcoming slate of the DCEU has exciting movies such as ”The Suicide Squad”, “The Flash”, and many more.
