At Jump Festa 2024, the Jujutsu Kaisen creator, Gege Akutami, has confirmed that they will be looking to end the manga before 2024. So, in a way, they warned the fans to be ready for the end. The story is going through the most interesting phase. After the deaths of several characters, including Satoru Gojo and Kenjaku, Ryomen Sukuna has become the most potent being in the Jujutsu world. Yuji Itadori is currently fighting with the King of Curses to end the nemesis once and for all.
Ryomen Sukuna took back his consciousness after taking over Megumi Fushiguro’s body. To kill Megumi’s soul, he is purposely hurting and killing his close ones to send him into a state of despair and never return. Amidst such an interesting phase, Gege Akutami has confirmed that Satoru Gojo will not return by the end of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Fans Are Heartbroken After Gege Akutami Announced Satoru Gojo Will Not Return
The Jujutsu Kaisen fandom knew they were in for a ride of a lifetime when Satoru Gojo was unsealed. He immediately challenged Ryomen Sukuna, and thus, the battle of the Strongest began. After both parties huffed and puffed, Sukuna managed to kill Satoru Gojo with Mahoraga’s Dimension Slash. Since then, the fans have been speculating about Gojo’s return. Gojo had mentioned that unless his head was destroyed, he could not be killed, and in this instance, his head was well intact even though his torso was severed from his waist.

After waiting for months, Gege Akutami waters down on every one’s hopes, confirming that the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer won’t be returning anymore. A post on X (formerly Twitter) became viral, confirming that Gojo has died. The post was about Megumi Fushiguro losing his entire family in the Shibuya Incident saga. His parents, sister, sensei, and even his classmate is dead.
So, it can be understood that Gege Akutami has confirmed that Megumi’s close ones are ‘Dead,’ including Satoru Gojo. Even though they mentioned it subtly, it did not go unseen by the fans. It hurts when someone hopes for something for a long time, but it does not happen.

Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami had mentioned that by the end of the manga, Yuji Itadori would be the only one alive among Gojo, Megumi, Nobara, and him, or vice versa. Gege Akutami is such a genius mangaka that even though they have killed tons of characters, but every death gives them the same pain as they experienced during the first death. But the fans will be more grief-stricken now since Satoru Gojo won’t be returning. It will hurt them a lot, but with Jujutsu Kaisen on the verge of ending, they will most likely try to enjoy every bit of it. It will be interesting to see how Yuji Itadori brings himself up at the very end after defeating all the evils, but there will be no one to celebrate it with.
