Lucasfilm, Disney, and even UTA took immediate steps against the actress. Soon, Lucasfilm and Disney terminated Gina Carano, as per THR, and noted, “Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future”. Further, even UTA dropped Carano as a client, as confirmed by the agency spokesperson.

Following her controversial post that led to severe online backlash and immediate termination, Gina Carano made headlines in 2024 for filing a lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm. In an escalation of a standoff over her firing from The Mandalorian, the actress sued her employer for wrongfully terminating and discriminating against her.
As per THR reports, Gina Carano’s complaint was filed on Tuesday in California federal court, where she alleged that she was fired for voicing right-wing opinions on social media. Further, according to her lawsuit, the actress sought Disney and Lucasfilm to hire her back and recast her.
Further, it has been noted that Elon Musk and X are standing by Gina Carano and have promised to support her lawsuit.
