Barry Keoghan recently spoke to Vanity Fair in their 2024 Hollywood Issue on a number of topics. This also included his thoughts of fellow Irishmen who have taken the world by storm with their acting credits. When he was asked about young male stars emerging in Hollywood, he said “We’re quite supporting of each another. Andrew and Paul, they’re killing it as and well and representing Ireland”.

The Interviewer then mentioned fellow Irish superstars who were doing great in Hollywood including Keoghan, Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, and Cillian Murphy.

“It’s nice to be in that company. You know, the Irish – when they’re away, they stick to one another. There’s this kind of language and this energy, that sometimes we don’t even finish our sentences. It’s just like “Eh! Oh! Yer! Eh? Short look! Yeh?” That’s it.

And it’s great to see fecking Cillian Killing it as well. I love that man. I really do. It’s a great group of lads, do ypu know what I mean? It’d be good to get us all in one big fecking movie, wouldn’t it?” – Barry Keoghan speaking to Vanity Fair

Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan have worked together in Dunkirk (2017), while Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott shared the screen in All of Us Strangers (2023). However, the four actors are yet to work together on a project.

Barry Keoghan Feels Overwhelmed by His Increased Fanfare

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Keoghan also revealed how he feels after his increased recognition. The 31-year-old star’s fandom experienced a huge growth last year after the release of Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. This also earned him a BAFTA Nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

“It’s (fame) new for me, man. It’s quite a scary one as well, because I’m not used to this much attention. It’s overwhelming. If I’m quite honest, It’s almost a different kind of life that you’ve got to be living now.
