Ant-Man 3 was one of the most anticipated films of the year as Jonathan Majors would be appearing as Kang the Conqueror, the third installment starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly would kickstart the next phase of the MCU in the multiverse, however, the film has been an awful movie so bad that it has the same review as the Eternals.
But, the MCU fans believed that Michael Peña and David Dastmalchian’s characters would have made the film a little more entertaining, as the side characters are interesting and have made the previous two Ant-Man films quite hilarious because of their role, and their absence added to the disappointment of the film.

A viewer supported the decision because most of the movie took place in the Quantum realm.
How would they fit in? I think it would be weird if they ended up going to the quantum realm with them and the movie almost entirely takes place there. Sure, the movie could have cut aways, but there isn't really a natural way they fit in with the film.

A fan tweeted the third sequel of Ant-Man felt like a watered-down version of Secret Wars.
Wish Ant-Man 3 could have just been an Ant-Man movie and not Secret Wars 0.5: And Ant-Man

It is quite disappointing to not see supporting characters like Luis and Kurt in the third installment of the film, as a result, the film lost its ‘ant-manisms’ which affected the popularity of the film.

What did Peyton Reed Say about the Absence of Supporting characters in Ant-Man 3?
During an exclusive interview with Insider, Peyton Reed who has directed all the Ant-Man films commented on the absence of Michael Peña, and David Dastmalchian’s absence from Ant-Man 3.
He explained that there were ‘no versions’ of the film had Luis in it because the third movie would kick start the multiverse saga and therefore the film would have only relevant characters in the film and had to take the hard decision of letting go stories he wouldn’t like in the movie.
“We obviously have our Lang, van Dyne and Pym family, but then we also introduced Kang, MODOK and all of our Freedom Fighter characters. So we had to make decisions early on about what stories we could tell and what stories we couldn’t tell.”
The director explained that Michael Peña’s character was one of the most loved characters in the movie and how the character supported Scott Lang as a great friend and how his actions made the audience laugh and bring humor to the scene.
