Four years after its release on the PlayStation 4, the title will now be released on the PC. All seemed to be going fine before the controversy with Helldivers 2 spread to the action-adventure game. In a post on X/Twitter, the popular social media platform, a user shared that the game’s product page indicated the requirement to have a PSN account linked to Steam:

Considering how long the PC Gaming community has waited for the action-adventure titles on the platform, the sudden requirement of a PlayStation Network account will undoubtedly ruffle some feathers in the PC community and it may not end well for Sony and PlayStation.

However, while the agenda of the pushback and the negative opinions from PC players was to ensure that their experience wasn’t hampered, it seems that the PlayStation community did add fuel to the already raging fire.

As seen from the post on X, which was embedded above, there is now a lot of bad blood between gamers who enjoy the co-op shooter on PC and PlayStation 5. While gamers on PC are livid because of the PSN account linking requirement, PS5 gamers are also hitting back at them.

There are sides to the issue; social media enables different sides of a story and allows both parties to express their exasperation with the controversy. While some comments are being made on the actual issue, which is Sony imposing the ID-linking requirement.

But many other accounts from one community are blatantly taking shots at the opposition. While it is not ideal for gamers to fight among each other instead of addressing the actual requirement and imposing it, it seems like another battle between the PC Master Race and PlayStation enthusiasts.
