The game has already beaten the likes of other popular and critically acclaimed PC port games. It is still behind the latest PlayStation hit, Helldivers 2, but that may not be the case for long if the game continues its impressive run like it has in the first week of its launch.

The game only recorded 58,000 concurrent players on the first day, but it soon surpassed popular games such as God of War. According to Valve’s SteamDB, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut hit the peak concurrent player count of 77,154 on Sunday, May 19.

The game left behind God of War, which has an all-time peak of 73,529, which the game hit two years ago upon its release on PC. The game also cruised past Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, which is currently in third place with a concurrent peak of 66,436 players.

At the time of writing, more than 46k players are in the game, and it has already garnered over eleven thousand positive reviews on Steam. The game is also the second-best-selling title on Steam, which is a testament to the title’s reception and shows that players are having a great time.

The Game Is Still Behind Helldivers 2 but Is in a Good Position

The game has recorded over 77k concurrent players, highest ever for a single-player PlayStation game.

Arrowhead Game Studios co-op shooter is still ahead of Ghost of Tsushima and remains the biggest ever PlayStation title on PC, but it is a multiplayer game and was also launched for PlayStation 5 and Steam on day one, so this feat from the game is still pretty impressive.

The co-op shooter sold over 12 million copies in 12 weeks, so it would be a little difficult for the game to surpass that, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done. Also, Sony would be very content with the game’s performance on PC, given that there has been a lot of controversy recently.

The game requires players to have a PlayStation Network account for online multiplayer and the PlayStation overlay and connect it to their Steam account. It is also not available in regions that do not support the PlayStation Network; therefore, it is doing great at the time.

The reception to the game has been amazing so far, and players have appreciated the polished game delivered by Nixxes. It is safe to say that there will be more players jumping on Steam to check out the game.
