Gwyneth Paltrow’s trial has riveted the nation, not because it’s world shatteringly serious, but because as many on the internet have determined, it’s quite absurd. 76-year-old optometrist Terry Sanderson sued the Oscar-winning actress over allegations of colliding with him on February 2016 in Park City, Utah on a bunny slope. Paltrow countersued and claimed that Sanderson had rammed into her and not the other way around. The jury ultimately determined who is the right one in the trial and that prompted the businesswoman to give Sanderson a funny and yet befitting reply.

In the civil court case, Terry Sanderson asked for $300,000 while Gwyneth Paltrow countersued for a symbolic $1 as well as the legal fees. On the stand, the actress was asked a barrage of questions by Sanderson’s legal team that made anyone following the trial smirk and shake their heads. She was asked about her height (as per her it’s 5-foot-10 but shrinking) and whether she’s friends with Taylor Swift (she’s just on friendly terms with the popstar).

As for the case, Paltrow said that she yelled “you’re skiing directly into my f**king back” when Sanderson apparently rammed into her on the snow slope. These questions and the way the star answered them made the trial feel surreal like it was a TV show rather than real life. As such, it makes sense that when the trial ended and the jury decided that Paltrow was not at fault for the 2016 ski incident, her response to Sanderson seemed to be straight out of Game of Thrones.

When she was leaving the courtroom, the actress went up to Sanderson and appeared to whisper “I wish you well” to him. The unexpected response is now making the rounds of social media with many claiming that Paltrow pulled a Cersei Lannister move on the septuagenarian man.
