She became the talk of the town when she annulled her marriage to Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin. The pair first met in 2002 at one of Martin’s Coldplay concerts with the duo dating shortly after that. The Oscar winner, Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband, Chris Martin. The duo made headlines when they decided to “consciously uncouple” in 2014, which meant that they eventually called off their marriage.

Even after the split, they continued to stay as good friends and supported each other in their future decision. When she announced her engagement with her now-husband, Brad Falchuk, many would want to know how her ex-husband reacted to the news.

During a 2018 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host asked about their relationship. To which, she responded,

“He’s really like my brother, You know, he’s my family.” 

She continued,

“And I’m so grateful to him for giving me these kids. It worked out well … You know, it really did, I have to say.”

The duo is in an amicable relationship and understands each other quite well. Not just the Coldplay frontman but the actress also expresses her support for him.

The businesswoman in a Friday Q&A session on her Instagram story got candid about the unique term which she used to separate with her former beau in 2014.

The “conscious uncoupling” garnered major backlash at the time however the term quickly became popular. She shared,

“I definitely did not coin the phrase, but I feel, despite us taking quite a lot of sh-t for it when we first announced that all these years ago, I feel very proud that we were able to, maybe, make some divorces a little bit easier, happier.”

Due to her first step in using that word, many saw a way to redefine their relationship with their exes. She further stated how she feels “proud” when someone comes up to her to show their gratitude for how that term made them become “good friends” with their former partners.

The term was originally coined by relationship coach Katherine Woodward Thomas however went extremely viral when Paltrow used it to split with Martin.
