After generating a substantial amount of income in its first ten days of release, the movie Haikyu!! The Movie: Decisive Battle At The Garbage Dump maintained an outstanding run at the Japanese box office. 

The film was the first installment in the two-part Haikyu!! Final sequel film project, and it remained at number one at the Japanese box office even in its second week. According to AnimeNewsNetwork, throughout the weekend, the movie brought in 1,120,105,990 yen (about US$7.44 million) from the sale of 781,000 tickets, for an overall total of 2.9 million tickets distributed and 4,180,733,200 yen (around US$27.77 million).

As of right now, the movie has the greatest opening weekend of any movie released in Japan this year. Although there hasn’t been any word about an international release for the Haikyu movie, when the movie hits international theaters, it is bound to become a success and break many records set in the past.

Demon Slayer To the Hashira Training Box Office Collection

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To The Hashira Training is most likely one of the best anime films to be produced in 2024. With total receipts of $13.3 million in the US and Canada and $21.6 million in other markets, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training has one of the largest openings of any anime film ever, grossing $34.9 million worldwide.

AnimeNewsNetwork has reported that in Japan, the film remained at number three even after its fourth weekend. In total, 1.24 million tickets have been sold for a total of 1,777,791,627 yen (about US$11.81 million), with 155,000 of those tickets sold during the screenings from Friday to Sunday for 229,514,510 yen (around US$1.52 million). 

The huge earnings and rankings of these movies are a strong indication that the anime industry is slowly getting stronger and soon it will take over major box offices around the world, making them one of the biggest movie art forms in the world, leaving other movie industries behind.
