The film then offered a satisfying ending to the character as fans witnessed him staying behind in time and marrying the love of his life, Peggy Carter, as per THR.
Steve Rogers, aka Captain America’s MCU storyline, therefore ended with him enjoying a hard-earned happily-ever-after with Peggy while passing over his shield and his mantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). Thereafter, Chris Evans made his exit from Marvel Studios to explore other opportunities. However, in recent times, the actor is yet again making headlines for his alleged return.
According to scooper account MyTimeToShineHello, later corroborated by HolyField News on X, Chris Evans reportedly agreed to reprise his role in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars. Previously, appearing on The View, Evans had expressed his desire to reappear as Captain America by stating, “I would never say never”. But since the MCU role is close to his heart, the actor conditioned that his return should be accompanied by a proper storyline doing justice to his character.

Further, considering the fact that Steve Rogers handed over the mantle to Sam Wilson aka The Falcon to be the next Captain America, fans believe if Evans returns in Avengers: Secret Wars, the movie might showcase another variant of the character. Therefore, worried about the quality of the script and the potential impact on the character’s legacy, fans appear to be in a dilemma over Evans’ alleged return.
