Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man: No Way Home set the bar quite high for Spider-Man fans thanks to the team-up between Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire. After the release, fans were ecstatic to see where the Spider-Man franchise is headed next as they braced themselves for another mind-blowing adventure. And thanks to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, they cannot keep calm anymore!

Fans are over the moon with excitement as Sony Pictures’ is soon going to come out with the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. What’s even more exciting is the fact that Miles Morales is going to be joined by a number of Spider-Man variations.

Fans are hoping to see the three live-action Spider-Man among those variations. Just like No Way Home, the cameos would be more thrilling if they don’t get spoiled beforehand. However, it looks like a poster might have ruined the surprise after all, especially for Tobey Maguire’s fans.

Odeon Ireland recently tweeted a poster for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and fans are a little confused about what the hell just happened. The poster flaunts a few variations of the superhero, and if you look closely enough to the left side of the poster, you might see someone familiar.

If you couldn’t place your finger on it, the far left of the poster shows a Spider-Man variant that resembles none other than Tobey Maguire’s OG Peter Parker, jumping through the air. Many believe that the people behind the poster successfully ruined or spoiled the actor’s cameo in the film, thus ruining the film that they were so excited to watch. After all, no matter how enticing spoilers can be, it’s never pleasant to receive them as it takes the fun out of the movie.

Others are of the opinion that it is simply a different Spider-Man posed in the same manner as Maguire’s, as Sony wouldn’t nonchalantly release such a spoiler. After the international trailer for the sequel paid tribute to all three live-action Spider-Men, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to say that they will be making an appearance, however short, in the animated film. But it would be nice not to have it spoiled, though!

While Odeon Ireland might have pulled a Tom Holland with this poster, fans are divided on their views. While some are furious that the team would go ahead and ruin such a surprise, others simply state that the poster is clearly generated through Artificial Intelligence. Some also believe that the variant in question is not Maguire’s Spider-Man at all.

Well, there’s nothing that can be said with certainty about what actually happened here. However, if Maguire does show up in the animated flick, along with the other two live-action Spider-Men, it would be a sight to behold! Of course, it will be a little bitter for fans who already saw this poster.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released in theatres on June 02, 2023.
