Suits stopped making more seasons after the ninth one because the actors’ contracts were up, but plans for a new spinoff based in LA are in progress.

Even though there won’t be a Season 10 of Suits, the show’s popularity on streaming platforms after it ended has led to another spinoff being created. And guess what? Stephen Amell from Arrow will be the main star in it.

Stephen Amell to Lead Spin-off of Suits

The popular legal show Suits is returning as Suits LA. Instead of just keeping the same story and going forward with the same characters, the creator of the franchise, Aaron Korsh, decided to make a whole new show — set in Los Angeles.

NBC ordered the new installment to pilot in early February. It’ll focus on Ted Black, a former New York federal prosecutor whose law firm is in trouble. Stephen Amell will be the main actor and lead the newest spinoff of the popular procedural.

The cast for the Suits L.A. hasn’t been announced yet, but the spinoff will focus on Ted Black (Stephen Amell) — a former federal prosecutor from New York.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gabriel Macht talked about reuniting with co-star Patrick J. Adams in the spin-off series.

While Adams has already said he’d like to return as Mike Ross, Macht wasn’t as direct about his interest. But he stated that characters could always come back in the expanding universe:

“I mean I think it’s in a world where some characters could in fact come [back].”

Macht and Adams hinted that actors from the original series like Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman might show up in the spin-off. When asked for advice for the new cast, Macht joked in the same interview:

“If they can get their hands on a digital device where that can take dialogue and download it to a little chip and stick it in their head, it might be a lot easier for them to say the words every day.”

Adams added, “Wear comfortable shoes.” The two actors, however, cleared it that they haven’t been invited to join the new show.
