Henry Cavill bid farewell to the set of The Witcher after his successful run as Geralt of Rivia. The news of Liam Hemsworth taking over came shortly after his departure and it did not take long for the fans to begin speculating as to why the Man of Steel actor would leave a show whose game he adored so much.

Henry Cavill Had Issues Doing Nude And Shirtless Scenes On The Witcher Set

It is no doubt that Henry Cavill loves The Witcher. Not only has he read all the books, but he has also played every game that came out. So when he got the role as Geralt of Rivia, no one was more ecstatic than the actor himself. His connection to the lore and the characters that he loved so much stopped him from doing a lot of scenes and further motivated him to make changes in the script itself.

Cavill did not wish to do any romantic scenes whatsoever and was proving to be a hassle on set. He decided on his own accord that he no longer wanted to do any shirtless scenes or scenes that involved kissing and nudity in them. He even proceeded to make changes in the script at the extremely last minute without consulting other writers or even the showrunner. Surprisingly enough, Henry Cavill was posing to be a problematic actor to work with as he was also not able to differentiate between the limitations that shooting television shows offers as compared to the freedom that movies have.

Henry Cavill Mistreated The Crew On The Set Of The Witcher

Henry Cavill, as per the leaked script for the Deuxmoi podcast, had unusual requests on set as well. This is something that the cast and crew are used to seeing only after the first or second season of a show. The actor was still given the benefit of the doubt as he was already a huge star, to begin with.

This, however, only worsened post the first season as Cavill’s gamer persona was more of a video game addiction that often caused delays during filming. He was becoming more and more disrespectful towards women and this was more so of a problem because the showrunner too is a woman. It came to a point where he was even ignoring and mistreating the women that were on the set. The showrunner then tried to push the actor to a point where he would want to leave the show, which even made Netflix intervene and give him a warning for the same. Although, as the carelessness seemed to continue, it seemed best to let go of the actor.

The Witcher is available to watch on Netflix.
