Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan is (as expected) all about Titans. From dwarf titans to the Colossal Titan, Isayama has not shied away from giving fans a vast range of titans with different powers, heights, and attack styles. So how did Eiichiro Oda, whose manga, One Piece, is not even about man-eating monsters, suddenly overtake Isayama in the titan department?
This particularly tall character is obviously a giant from One Piece, Sanjuan Wolf, who has been named the Colossal Battleship simply due to his unexpectedly large size. But what is his significance in One Piece, and how tall exactly is he?
One Piece’s Sanjuan Wolf is Taller than Attack on Titan’s Colossal Titan
Sanjuan Wolf is an enormous giant whose height is a whopping 180 meters tall. While he is from a giant heritage, he is actually one of the tallest creatures in One Piece. Normal giants in One Piece are around 12.53 meters tall, with the tallest, Dorry being 22.6 meters. The only two creatures who are taller than him in the franchise are Laboon and Zunesha. On top of being a giant, Wolf has also eaten the Deka Deka no Mi Devil Fruit, which makes him much bigger than normal giants.
Now, let’s go back to Sanjuan Wolf or the Colossal Battleship. The giant was given a life sentence in Impel Down due to the various crimes and atrocities he had committed. After being freed, he now belongs to the Blackbeard Pirates and will be a major antagonist in the final saga of One Piece.
This particular giant is so big that his size itself is a threat to others. He only has to slip and fall to massacre hundreds of people underneath him. To explain his size better, Attack on Titan‘s Colossal Titan is only 60 meters tall in comparison to Wolf’s 180 meters. Even the Rod Reiss Titan is only 120 meters tall. There are only two Titans who are taller than Wolf: Ymir’s Titan and Eren’s Founding Titan. While the very first Titan was 200 meters tall, Eren’s Founding Titan is claimed to be 200-240 meters tall.
Sanjuan Wolf’s Role in the Final Saga of One Piece
Sanjuan Wolf might be a criminal giant, but Eiichiro Oda has also portrayed him to have a playful attitude as well as a shy temperament. He shows a significant lack of participation and is an extremely loud complainer. At the same time, he is a heavy sleeper. It almost seems like the Colossal Battleship is nothing more than a child who is loyal to Blackbeard and is getting taken advantage of.
In the Egghead Arc, Wolf was present on Hachinosu when Garp’s force attacked to bring back Koby. He was even thrown overboard by Garp but was rescued by the Blackbeard pirates. He is sure to make a comeback in the last arcs of One Piece, and fans are waiting to see him and how he impacts the tide of the battle.
While Wolf is an incredibly big giant, there are also other characters in One Piece who are taller than him, namely Zunesha and Laboon. Laboon’s height is almost 400 meters, and Zunesha stands at a whopping 35k meters. While Laboon is not a combat animal, Zunesha was a comrade of Joyboy back in the day and can definitely become Luffy’s ally in his 5th gear form.
