Ryan Coogler, one of the most sought-after filmmakers of today’s generation, is busy cooking. Known for the Creed movies and making one of the best comic book movies ever, Black Panther, Coogler will now be entering the realm of the supernatural. Announced this year, the director has written an original script for a supernatural flick involving Vampires.
And after having Michael B. Jordan, one of his frequent collaborators, on board, Coogler has cast his fellow Marvel star Hailee Steinfeld in an unknown role.
Hailee Steinfeld Joins Ryan Coogler’s Supernatural Flick
Ryan Coogler‘s dabble in the supernatural genre is being kept increasingly secretive. And what has been known has not even been confirmed by the production or the filmmaker till now. Yet a few details have been leaked from here and there, and The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that joining his supernatural flick is actress Hailee Steinfeld.
Known best for roles like Kate Bishop in the MCU and voicing Gwen Stacy in the Oscar-winning Spider-verse franchise, Steinfeld’s inclusion is a welcoming update. Although her role has not been confirmed, whether she’d be playing a human or a being, the actress is the latest to join the untitled project that has been busy casting.
After the revelation that Michael B. Jordon will be helming the story and possibly starring in a twin role, several actors have been announced. It is rumored that another Marvel star, Wunmi Mosaku, might be playing Jordan’s romantic interest.
Joining the cast are also Delroy Lindo, best known for Da 5 Bloods, and Jack O’Connell who played James Cook in the series Skins. Being produced by Coogler himself through his company, Proximity Media, the movie is rumored to be set in the Jim Crow-era South, potentially having an amalgamation of Vampires and Sothern supernatural traditions.
