Tupac Shakur is still regarded as one of the greatest rap legends of all time. Shakur was gunned down on September 13, 1996, by the Southside Camptons Crips gang. The American rapper was killed in Las Vegas.
Still, many people remember the great performer, but Jada Pinkett Smith holds the late rapper very close to her heart. Many assumed that they were romantically involved prior to Shakur’s death, but Pinkett Smith revealed the dynamics of their relationship during an interview.
Jada Pinkett Smith met Tupac Shakur at Baltimore School for The Arts
Tupac Shakur and Jad Pinkett Smith came across each other during the mid-80s. They met each other for the first time at the Baltimore School for The Arts. While talking about the school days when Pinkett Smith was with Shakur she explained that the Changes singer was a funny-looking guy in school. During an interview, the 51-year-old actress said,
“It was the first day and he came over to me and introduced himself. And in high school, Pac was a little funny looking. Definitely from looking at him, wasn’t necessarily the type of cat that I would even like, deal with. But as soon as he approached me, he was like a magnet.”
While talking about her relationship with Shakur she described the late rapper as her best friend and she also mentioned that Shakur was like a brother to her. The Set It Off actress said she noticed at a very early point in their lives that Shakur will be a big star one day.
Jada Pinkett Smith says her kiss with Tupac Shakur was disgusting
Until Pinkett Smith spoke about the real dynamic of her and Shakur’s relationship the world assumed they were lovers. Shakur also penned don beautiful poetry of Pinkett Smith. The Scream 2 actress also explained how they both felt when they tried to kiss each other. Pinkett Smith said,
“ It is so funny. Now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us. When you have two young people who have very strong feelings but there is no physical chemistry… between us at all. And it wasn’t even just for me. It was him too. When I tell you it had to be the most disgusting thing, kiss for us both.”
She further added,
“I feel as though if Pac and I had any kind of sexual chemistry we might have killed each other because we were both so passionate and we loved deeply.”
When Stern inquired about Shakur’s gangster personality, the 51-year-old actress described his demeanor as,
“He was a revolutionary without a revolution. That kind of energy just transferred into a whole other thing.”
Many people assumed Shakur had been murdered by a ruthless gang since he had a connection with another gang. According to reports, the rapper was murdered by the Southside Camptons Crips group in order to avenge the death of another member of their gang.
