The actor told how well he was greeted at Kimmel’s guest house and that he totally felt like Kimmel was his sugar daddy (when he was staying at the TV host’s house after rehab).
John Mulaney Had a Great Time While Staying at Jimmy Kimmel’s Guest House After his Rehab
During his appearance on the ABC talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Mulaney revealed that he lived in Kimmel’s guest house for a few weeks after his rehab. The experience was so great for Mulaney that he felt Jimmy Kimmel was his “sugar daddy.” He joked, “He [Kimmel] was like my sugar daddy.”
The 41-year-old recalled waking up to a “basket of bagels” and using a “nice restaurant-quality espresso machine.” Mulaney said:
“I was treated so well. I never saw you, no, I never did. But I’d wake up with a basket of bagels. He was like my sugar daddy [he laughed]. I’d wake up and there’d be money for the day, go buy an outfit. And a nice restaurant-quality espresso machine, not bad. If you’re thinking about not having a home, it gets real good over there.”
Even Kimmel also felt like they had “adopted a son.”
John Mulaney Embarrassed Jimmy Kimmel During His Stay
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host admitted that Mulaney “embarrassed” him during his stay when he requested to use the gym. He said to Mulaney:
“You’re like, ‘Can I use the gym?’ And I’m like, ‘I guess I should maybe be using the gym too.””
Over this, Mulaney confessed that he was out of shape due to smoking cigarettes. The star then humorously mentioned:
“I think I squeezed into your wife’s Peloton shoes… I’d start Peloton workouts, and I’d be so winded so quickly.”
He also felt self-conscious, fearing that the Kimmel family would notice his short and breathless exercise sessions.
