Fans have acquainted themselves with Finn Jones as Marvel’s Iron Fist, with multiple series featuring him as the superhero. Jones starred as Iron Fist/Danny Rand in Netflix’s Iron Fist, The Defenders, and Luke Cage. However, the English actor was heavily criticized for playing the part, entangled with a racial controversy and his lack of martial arts skills. Besides that, the story structure and script of the show were also blamed for the show’s failure.
A social media post recently highlighted a harsh truth that rescues Finn Jones from the red zone and instead passes the blame on the showrunner’s ingenuity. Talks have begun of a possible Iron Fist feature film this year in addition to a demand for a Heroes for Hire show based on the comics. Hence, fans are voting for Jones to reprise his character in the potential features.
Finn Jones gets the benefit of the doubt
The initial reaction to Iron Fist, which aired for a year with two seasons, wasn’t all that good. But Finn Jones’ character progression throughout the series and in an episode of Luke Cage Season 2 impressed fans. Eventually, the viewers blamed Marvel for the writing, direction, and poor handling of characters in Iron Fist while the 35-year-old actor entered the fans’ good books.
Since then, a hail for another potential Marvel series, Heroes for Hire has taken pace. Alternatively known as Marvel’s Heroes for Hire, the animated action series was originally part of the Marvel Wonders Animated Universe. Produced by Marvel Animation and ABC Signature, the show aired on FX since May 2020, per Idea Wiki.
The plotline revolves around the business, Heroes for Hire, founded by Luke Cage to safeguard New Yorkers from street crimes and everyday menaces. Therefore, the team involved Marvel superheroes like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, White Tiger, Moon Knight, and Daredevil.
Fans back Finn Jones’ Iron Fist
A post on X made a statement contrary to popular opinion, claiming Finn Jones did a fair job with Iron Fist but the directing was bad. Urging others to rethink their perception of the Leatherface actor in the MCU. The caption of the post read,
“Finn Jones was never the problem. The writing & directing was. Y’all need to let the hated bias go. Iron Fist in both S2 (which was a GREAT improvement & especially in Luke Cage Season 2 showed what he is actually capable of. Since then people deeply want a Heroes for Hire show”
Jones’s Iron Fist reprisal in Luke Cage left fans impressed with the potential his character holds. They took to the comments section to chime in with their insights. Here are some of the reactions:

People keep blaming actors for bad writing and directing the same way they blame bus drivers for few buses scheduled and being scheduled to drive below a certain speed to maintain a schedule.
They blame the person they see not the one at fault.

Season 2 was an improvement, but even with the reduced episodes, it still didn't seem like the show had any real direction except acknowledging that Colleen Wing was a fan-favorite and probably should have a bigger role with more screentime.

Iron Fist Season 2 was actually pretty good. Huge improvement from the first.

I agree. And they gave him a couple weeks to train. How the hell did they think that was gonna go? If he had been given 6 months to train, and they had good writers, he may have had a good role. Not really on him at all.

Even though Iron Fist has been slammed with a poor 12% on Rotten Tomatoes, and with a truckload of criticism from critics and viewers, Jones has managed to shine with his shining fist in the Marvel series. Iron Fist is available to stream on Netflix and fans can watch Luke Cage on Disney+.
