Johnny Depp has been a Hollywood heartthrob ever since his debut on the big screen. He has consistently been able to leave a lasting impression on his fans. So, whether it be through his captivating performances in critically acclaimed films like Edward Scissorhands and Pirates of the Caribbean, or his mesmerizing roles in lesser-known independent films.

However, one quality of the 59-year-old artist’s acting that has always stood out is his amazing capacity to capture romance in his ‘kissing scenes’. This is especially clear in his 2009 crime drama movie, Public Enemies.

Depp portrayed American bank robber, John Dillinger in the film, and his co-star, Marion Cotillard played Billie Frechette, a young coat check girl. The two characters have undeniable chemistry right away, and their passionate love story serves as the movie’s beating heart.

Well, note that the Sleepy Hollow actor’s famous kissing skill is to blame for everything.

Depp is known for his legendary kissing skills, but why? The way he immerses himself in his role and makes each scene feel genuine may be the reason for this. Or maybe it has to do with his ability to connect with any actor he appears on screen with.

Whatever the reason, there’s no doubt that the Inception actress was totally impressed.

Johnny Depp’s On-Screen Kissing Reputation

Marion Cotillard’s confession on the set of Public Enemies can be overlooked because she was already too captivated to be around Johnny Depp. But when it comes to other people, they don’t easily give in to the pressure of kissing the Secret Window actor.

In addition to Cotillard, Depp’s other co-stars also talked about their kissing scenes with Depp. And while the French actress, kept a dignified memory of the occasion, Eva Mendes, was a little more dishonorable in her account of kissing The Professor actor on camera.

Mendes was his co-star in the 2003 film, Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

She once admitted to Us Weekly:

“All of my screen kisses were the best, though I regret not kissing Johnny Depp for longer.”

However, keeping that aside, it’s understandable why people keep going back to watching Public Enemies to enjoy Depp’s extraordinary kissing scenes.

He is a true expert in his field, and thus, will be regarded as one of the most gifted leading men in Hollywood for many years to come.
