Rosie Perez has appeared in some myriads of movies that accentuated her filmography, but certainly, the actress didn’t have a fun experience while making all of them. Few of Perez’s projects have been difficult for her, while others have simply given her unforgettable wild experiences.
Recalling one incident from when Seth Rogen recruited the actress for his and James Franco’s 2008 comedy Pineapple Express, Rosie Perez mentioned having a weird filming experience. Discussing how things got a little wild between her and her co-stars, Perez mentioned being pissed off at Franco for biting her butt.
Rosie Perez Recalled a Memorable Pineapple Express Fight Scene
Being in the entertainment industry for decades, Rosie Perez has managed to create an extensive filmography and a strong position in Hollywood. However, being a professional Broadway artist, Perez didn’t always have great filming experience. Recalling one of her memorable movies the actress discussed her 2008 comedy.
Speaking about Seth Rogen’s comedy movie, Pineapple Express, Rosie Perez mentioned how Rogen recruited her to play the role of a cop in his stoner comedy, alongside James Franco. As the movie narrated the story of a marijuana dealer on the run after witnessing a murder, Perez mentioned having a fight scene with Franco.
Perez initially began by explaining how she was drawn to the movie, immediately after reading the script. Finding it hilarious, the actress wanted to be a part of the movie. And eventually, she was so engrossed in filming that Perez even refused to have a stunt double for the fight scenes.
James Franco Went Off Script And Pissed Off Rosie Perez
During her interview with The Early Show via CBS, Rosie Perez spoke about how she read the script of the movie and immediately felt like being a part of it. “As soon as I read the script I was like, this is hilarious” she shared. Thus, engaging with the project, Perez went to have a fun experience.
However, Rosie Perez had a bizarre experience while filming, something that she didn’t expect while accepting the role. Perez spoke about a memorable fight scene between her and James Franco’s characters, where she refused to take a body double.
“I did a lot of it. There’s only two shots with the stunt [double]. After a while I was like get rid of the stunt chick. I’m doing it all. James Franco and I kind of threw away the choreography, too, and went for it. He went for my butt, too!”
Speaking of how she ended up regretting her decision of not taking a stunt double, Rosie Perez mentioned how James Franco went off script to bite her butt. Being obviously pissed at his behavior, Perez discussed the bizarre experience.
“He bit my butt, which wasn’t great and it didn’t even make the movie and I am kind of pissed off about that.”
But eventually, apart from the fight scene where Franco bit her butt, the overall experience was fun for Rosie Perez. She even reflected upon her interest in doing a sequel to Pineapple Express.
