It has been two months since Helldivers 2 was released, and players have struggled against the Automaton and Terminid threats, but one major issue that players have struggled with is not being able to receive the fruits of their labor thanks to a delay in medals from Major Orders.

Luckily for gamers, Arrowhead Game Studios is already hard at work, as it has issued a statement to the official Helldivers 2 discord channel describing how it’s looking to fix this unfortunate issue and how there could be a complete overhaul in the near future.

After a Few Impossible Challenges, Players Looked Forward to Their Rewards, but Helldivers 2 Has Other Plans

For those who may not know, in Helldivers 2, the main objectives for players to follow tend to come through the game in the form of Major Orders. These objectives tend to be directions from Super Earth, giving us missions to liberate the galaxy’s planets at a time.

Usually these Major Orders tend to end with players acquiring medals, which can be used to purchase items from the different Warbonds that are active within the game. These medals are quite vital to the improvement of the player base, as gamers cannot acquire new weapons, armor, or buffs without this vital resource.

Sadly, this resource has been struggling to make its way to gamers, as there have been issues with certain players not acquiring these rewards once the Major Orders have been completed. This leaves a lot of gamers awaiting their hard-earned rewards for days or even weeks.

Now this could all change, as according to an admin and community manager of the official Helldivers 2 Discord channel, under the username of Twinbeard, has explained that they are aware of this issue and are currently working on issuing the last set of rewards after they have already issued rewards for 2 out of 3 of the last Major Orders.

Helldivers 2 Could Receive an Overhaul of How Rewards Are Issued, According to Its Community Manager

A new reward system could be implemented to avoid reward delays.
A new reward system could be implemented to avoid delays.

To start this off, let’s be clear: there will be no change to the actual rewards from the Major Orders within Helldivers 2, at least none that have been mentioned by the development team. However, this potential overhaul could be brought into the game to streamline how the rewards are handled, hopefully avoiding issues like these in the future.

Usually, when it comes to rewards in a game, players will expect them to be instant, especially after spending days to weeks grinding to complete a single objective, but at the moment, the rewards system is very delayed, to the point where Twinbeard has even stated, “It’s frankly about as reliable as a solar-powered watch in Malevelon Creek,” which is funny for those who know the pain of Malevelon Creek.

Hopefully this new overhauled system will feel more like reward systems from other games that provide rewards instantly, rather than feeling like we have to wait weeks for mail to come to be disappointed, but only time will tell.
