Every player who has played Helldivers 2 will agree that it is a power-packed title, however, it does have its fair share of problems. The game crashes, server issues, and faulty patches are just some of the issues the players have faced since day one of the launch. Besides, the in-game foes add to the woes.

Another thing that has been consistently bothersome is the struggle with the rewards when players complete Major Orders. Every time a Major Order is completed, developers Arrowhead are flooded with players complaining that they have not received their medal payouts. In fact, Arrowhead themselves have admitted that at the moment, the current reward system is pretty useless.

Helldivers 2 Reward System to receive an Overhaul

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios recently confirmed that they are working on a complete overhaul of the rewards system for Major Orders amidst reports of delayed as well as missing medal payouts.

Helldivers 2 community manager Twinbeard, during an interaction over Discord, was responding to players’ complaints over missing Major Order medals. The community manager confessed that the system has “been very slow or working on and off rather, for a long time.

The community manager was faced with several similar questions and after responding to many of these players individually, they finally acknowledged the issue and promised a rework of the system.

They issued a statement on the issue saying,

“For those of you asking about outstanding medals: Medals for two of the latest three major orders have now been shipped. The last remaining batch will roll out in 16 hours (if Hammertime does its thing; if not, 11.00 AM CET April 10th). We will also do an overhaul in the future of the system handling these requests, as it’s frankly about as reliable as a solar-powered watch in Malevelon Creek.”

This comes as good news as at least the developers plan on doing something about the issue, and it won’t be long before the fans get a solution.

Medals are not changing

While replying to another fan query, Twinbeard clarified that the overhaul will apply to the rewards system itself and not the actual Helldivers 2 medals. Thus, fans should not expect any instant changes to the currency system.

Twinbeard’s comment suggests that probably the delivery system will be undergoing a change. Nevertheless, the changes could hopefully allow players to receive their medals for Major Orders within a reasonable timeframe.

Currently, for Helldivers 2 players who are not getting their mission rewards, the only real solution is to simply wait. In the majority of cases, it has appeared that the rewards eventually show up after a delayed period of time. For some, reloading the game has solved the issue, but it’s not certain if it works for all.

Nonetheless, given that Arrowhead is hard at work fixing the whole situation, there seems to be some light. Again, it is not known how long that will take either. Twinbeard says he is not sure if the update arrives before Thursday or not.
