Helldivers 2 is increasingly becoming a stage for a bunch of tense battles. Players continuously fight for liberation and the prevention of democracy on Super Earth and the planets surrounding it. But things aren’t always as easy as they seem. Game master Joel keeps making sure things remain as challenging for the gamers as possible; this was evident in a recent event that players were struggling with despite their best efforts.
Completing a number of challenges and quests, disrupting the supply lines of the enemy forces. Everything in that area was being tackled. Helldivers 2 players were hellbent on making sure that they liberated their latest target. It became increasingly difficult for them and might ultimately end in failure. Now, they have come up with a new plan to end this event, but the game’s community manager suggests it might not work so well.
Helldivers 2 players can capture Martale, but it would not affect the Charon defense event
Martale is the latest planet that players are working so hard to liberate. They are fighting their enemies relentlessly, and they are completing all the given challenges at great speed. Yet, despite reaching 95% liberation, things remain risky.
But there’s yet another planet that players are working to liberate; it is called Charon. Now the problem is that it’s hard enough for everyone to liberate one planet; how would they do two at once? The idea is simple enough: liberate Martale, disrupt the supply line towards Charon, and they would liberate that one too.
They started calling this plan Martale Gambit and started working on it. This is a solid plan, too; most planets in this game are connected through supply lines. Players can simply go ahead and disrupt them at will, and if this game’s system allows, they can start liberating multiple planets at the price of one.
But the community manager of Helldivers 2 recently took to Discord to explain to the fans that they might be enthusiastic about this plan, but it might not work. He suggested that this is not how the developers have designed their planetary system in Helldivers 2. But one person can allow them to get the desired results if he wishes to.
“Capturing Martale will not automatically end the Charon defense event, the system does not work that way. But Joel can award the win manually, and if the Martale gambit is successful, he will honor that commitment by granting the win on Charon. Our galactic war systems are meant to work that way, but don’t have that functionality yet, and so a lot of it has to be done manually (and as such, is a bit inconsistent.)”
This is an incredible initiative from the developers, as they know players have found a systematic fault in their game; hence, they would manually offer them the reward they seek. It just works; all players have to do now is bring democracy to Martale.
This would then allow Helldivers 2’s game master, Joel, to manually liberate Charon. This has inspired gamers to push through the hurdles and win over Martale as soon as possible.
The inclusion of a game master is the best thing they ever did
This game is getting more and more dynamic with every passing day, and this can be credited to game master Joel. He can make changes to the game’s narrative and shift the tide of war at will.
It looks like everything Arrowhead Game Studio does is just perfect for their fans. They have made a streak of perfect decisions with Helldivers 2, and here’s hoping it never breaks.
