Helldivers 2 creative director and Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt does have a passion for the game. If one is to peek at his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), you can tell by the engagement. Again, he did what should be done by engaging in a post showcasing the top gaming brands that were missing the name of democracy fighters.
Since the game was released in February 2024, the numbers have kept soaring. Just a few weeks ago, it sold around 3 million copies globally, and now the position has ascended to around 8 million. It is a big deal when it is something people keep throwing money at to get it. What’s more, it topped the UK and US charts for the month it was released. There’s something about this game.
That Top Spot is Missing Helldivers 2
PlayStation certainly has given gamers some mouth-watering franchises like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, and more that keep a gamer committing the seat of his pants to the seat of the chair, for hours.
A recent addition to this list should be Helldivers 2. Unfortunately, one user who shared an image containing some of the iconic PS titles missed it. “The ONLY two REAL gaming brands,” the post reads, indicating that PlayStation and Nintendo are by far the best gamers have ever seen.

Johan Pilestedt was seen using his binoculars as Helldivers 2 was nowhere to be found.
“Where is the blue sides champ for democracy?,” he asked surprisingly.
“it is getting there,” the user named Hi there replied.
To which Pilestedt replied, saying:
I do agree with you. It's crazy that it might be in the future…. Like… It's a childhood dream come true.

The game hasn’t given the players any bullets to dodge, just some heartbreaks, that were likely planned by the Game Master Joel.
Players Would Love to See the Fight for Democracy Reaching for the GotY Stage
It is almost interesting that Rise of the Ronin didn’t make it to the image containing the top-notch games, despite it being one of the most anticipated titles. The game has received generally favorable reviews from critics, but the fans aren’t very happy with it. It is a similar case that happened with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The only difference remains that the critics were harsh on it. Rise of the Ronin at least got the critics on its side.
However, both games have one thing in common: fans aren’t very happy with the gameplay. Thankfully, Helldivers 2 doesn’t seem to have any issues akin to that. In fact, players just love the gameplay. It even had the power to change the heart of some players who initially criticized it.
It’s not even been a couple of months since the Helldivers 2 was released, and it already is becoming a fan favorite. It won’t be surprising if it makes it to the Game of the Year nomination.
