Helldivers 2 has been making headlines all over the gaming world and for all the right reasons. From having astounding battle mechanics to real-time Galactic War simulation resulting in co-op chaos, players love the thrill and adventure of the game which is akin to the Planet Doom mentioned in Ready Player One.
But, just because something is good, it doesn’t mean there isn’t any scope for improvement. The developers are busy fixing bugs and releasing them through patches and updates.
Now, one player has come up with an update idea that is bound to propel Helldivers 2 to the Game of the Year title.
Helldivers 2 Is Not a PvP Game, at Least According to One Fan
Helldivers 2 boasts an impressive co-op play that keeps players hooked because of the opportunity to wreck chaos, erm spread managed democracy, together. While some players are asking for a PvP mode, the majority of players would prefer a co-op mode that accommodates more players in a squad. Multiple squad co-ops were also discussed.
This is a Co-op game, not PVP.

The comment section was buzzing with over 1.3k comments. Some of the comments suggested that a raid mode would make for a good addition while even others suggested giant boss raid modes with 8 or more co-op players.
Another comment outlined a detailed idea for a multi-squad raid event that sounded promising.

With 119 upvotes and 13 replies, the comment garnered quite a bit of traction. However in our opinion, even if this comes to fruition, it would take some time as multi-squad raids are a rare occurrence in the gaming world currently. Co-op multi-squad gaming, if added, will take Helldivers 2 to a different level altogether.
There were some demands for customizations of the ship, including an enthusiastic commenter wanting a captain’s quarter on their ship. But they were quickly shot down by other players who reiterated the fact that captain’s quarters and customization options aren’t part of the lore.

The latest patch of Helldivers 2 has fixed a lot of glitches and bugs in the game. This has made players hopeful for future updates and the addition of new features to the game.
The Future of Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is shattering records left and right as time progresses. After making a debut that was beyond the expectations of the developers, the game started rocketing through the leaderboards and currently sits as the second-most played game on Steam, second only to Palworld.
But by the looks of the updates and patches coming, Helldivers 2 might just claim the top spot. The refreshing lack of PvP toxicity in the game is a huge contributing factor to the success of the game and we are sure the developers are not going to want to mess with that.
The brothers-in-arms feeling that players get from Helldivers 2 is what keeps drawing players back for more. At a time when players are pitted against one another, Helldivers 2 provides co-op experiences that bring players together, as democracy rightly should.
What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think that a PvP mode would be detrimental to the game? Is there any plausible chance that 6-8 player co-op missions would be available soon? Let us know in the comments below.
