Helldivers 2 is still collecting flowers for the well-earned praise and recognition from the gaming community. The gameplay is addicting and fun but some are more into collecting mementos like trophies, and Johan Pilestedt can hear their pleas for more.
Trophies can identify whether a player has accomplished rare feats, most are naturally unlocked through the course of the game while there are some incredibly difficult to unlock. Pilestedt has commented on the matter and has some exciting news to share soon about it.
Arrowhead CEO Promises Additional Trophies for Helldivers 2
Some are too lazy to unlock trophies that are quite taxing and time-consuming but there are members of the PlayStation community who take joy in increasing their trophy levels. Pilestedt responded to one X user who was asking about additional trophies for the game and his response is what fans are waiting to hear.
Yes, it will happen at some point!

It is only a matter of when and not if, Helldivers 2 will be getting a new batch of trophies relatively soon. The existing trophy set for the game generally focuses on speed and beating missions at a higher difficulty. Perhaps the game master can make every trophy hunter’s quest for a platinum an impossible nightmare after members of the community goaded Joel to crank up the difficulty.
There are advantages of including trophies within a game, it increases the player count and inclines them to play a bit longer to unlock them. Pilestedt is aware that only 1.5% of the Helldivers 2 players were able to unlock the platinum on PlayStation 5 and is most likely looking for more ways to make the war effort much more entertaining and rewarding.
Helldivers 2 Trophies Could Lead Into Future Expansions
Most games reward players with trophies that are story related, perhaps the additional trophies can pave the way to realize Pilestedt’s grander and more ambitious vision for an expanding universe. Sometimes the developers can get a little cheeky with the names of trophies, some can be a cut-and-dry tease for what’s to come.
Perhaps Pilestedt and the rest of Arrowhead Studios can implement much harder difficulties and knowing the skill and commitment of the gaming community, there will be those who will answer the call and welcome the challenge. One player managed to reach difficulty level 50 and didn’t even use any firearms or stratagems, only their fists. Even the developers were impressed, maybe it could be an inspiration for more trophies down the line.
Completing a trophy set can be a far more rewarding experience if there are only a handful of players who have the platinum, and it can be a form of bragging rights knowing that the list will be made available to see someone’s profile.
Not everyone is interested in trophy hunting and just wants to play a game, but doing so is a testament to how well a game resonates with a player. Helldivers 2 is a live-service game that requires teamwork to unlock some trophies, providing a helping hand to an ally can send a good message to the gaming community as well to be kind and do their part.
