Recently, while battling Automatons, players came across two new Automaton units that annihilated the players on the battlefield. To remember the fallen soldiers, Arrowhead has now released a cape called Fallen Hero’s Vengeance but donning this cape can get you in serious trouble.
A section of the gamer base has decided to instantly kill players who are wearing this cape, and this due to the eternal hate for Creekers. Creekers is a term coined by the Helldivers 2 community for players who are only focusing on Malevelon Creek and ignoring the wider Galactic War. So, it’s safe to say that there is an internal war going on among players in the community.

Malevelon Creek has witnessed the deaths of countless Helldivers 2 players over the past few days. With Automatons using mysterious aerial gunships and Star Wars AT-AT-style Factory Striders, players have been fighting hard on the battlefield, to the point where the Automaton map is now being called “Space Vietnam” on social media by the fans.
Arrowhead has now decided to remember all the fallen soldiers by recognizing this day as Malevelon Creek Memorial Day. Everyone got their hands on a free cape called Fallen Hero’s Vengeance to remember their defeated companions. However, the Helldivers 2 community had the opposite reaction as wearing this cape will get you killed instantly by your comrades.

As per IGN, some Helldivers 2 players have decided to kick or teamkill players who wear the Malevelon Creek Memorial Day cape. A section of the fanbase has called these players “Creekers,” as these Creekers only focus on the battle on Malevelon Creek, ignoring the wider Galactic War. Fans are frustrated as other planets require the community’s attention, but these Creekers are not following orders and are only fighting on Malevelon Creek.
It seems like there is an internal war going on between the Helldivers 2 community as not everyone is satisfied with the teamkilling. Some fans have pointed out that its unfair to kill players for wearing an item that everyone got for free as this completely ruins the gaming experience for everyone.
