Halo Infinite players have been quite creative with the forge mode, just like in previous installments of the franchise. Being the latest iteration of the forge mode, the one in Infinite is by far the most advanced and offers the most freedom and flexibility. Players have shown some really good creativity and versatility with the mode ever since.

The latest standout creation is a mode called Survive the Undead, which is now available in Halo Infinite’s matchmaking until June 4. It’s created by a group called The Forge Falcons, a well-known team of creators that features around a dozen members.

Classic Zombies Experience With a Halo Twist

Halo Infinite PvE Players Can Now Use Forge AI Toolkit to Create Their Own Gameplay Experiences
Halo Infinite players can now play a version of the classic Zombies mode in the game.

The Survive the Undead mode brings the popular Call of Duty Zombies-like experience to Halo Infinite, using the Banished race of enemies from the main campaign. Players face waves of zombies, build defenses, and use points to buy weapons and upgrades. Currently at launch, the mode features two maps: Night of the Undead and Installation of the Dead.

Survive the Undead has many of the classic Zombies mechanics from Call of Duty. Players earn points by killing enemies, which they can spend on new weapons and health boosts, increased damage, speed, etc. There are special power-ups that provide bonuses like full ammo refills or extra points. The mode also includes boss waves, a version of the Pack-a-Punch Machine that upgrades weapons, and a Mystery Box for random weapons.

This mode has been available unofficially in the content browser of the game for some time now, with The Forge Falcons refining it through several updates over time. Its official release in matchmaking is a pretty big deal, marking the first time a community-made PvE mode has been added to Halo Infinite matchmaking.

This partnership between 343 Industries and The Forge Falcons is a good sign, and hopefully, more such modes will come in the future with 343 Industries’ support.

The Helldivers 2 Mode for Halo Infinite Is Also Coming Soon

Halo Infinite's Forge is going to bring Helldivers 2 to Xbox.
This could be one way for Xbox players to play the Arrowhead hit.

A Helldivers 2-like mode is also in development by The Forge Falcons, set to be released next month, called Helljumpers. It will have a lot of similar gameplay and progression mechanics to Helldivers 2

This mode, set to launch in June, aims to bring its intense co-op shooter experience to Xbox and PC players. Helljumpers will feature procedural objectives, in-game progression, boss fights, and more features similar to Helldivers. It will also include a custom-made campaign that is around five hours long. A gameplay trailer is set to release a week before its launch.

Infinite’s multiplayer is free-to-play, so anyone can jump into Survive the Undead without having to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass or own the game. It also doesn’t require a Game Pass Core (FKA Xbox Live Gold) to be able to play it online. Forge and Custom Games are also free, offering a wide variety of community-created experiences.
