Helldivers 2 has been the latest gaming sensation, praised for its fun action-oriented immersive gameplay. Despite experiencing debilitating server issues at launch thanks to an unprecedented level of success, the game has managed to keep growing in popularity and break records along the way.
There’s a new problem on the rise, and this time it’s within the community. While quite a stink was raised about the problem, some players feel it’s been blown way out of proportion.
Helldivers 2 Players Are Giving the Boot to Non-Meta Load Outs
The latest point of discourse in the Helldivers 2 community has been a problem that is affecting the player experience. There’s been an influx of players complaining about people in the game kicking out others for not adhering to the ‘meta loadout,’ which is:
- Armor Type: Light armor
- Primary: SG-225 Breaker
- Secondary: P-19 Redeemer
- Throwable: G-16 Impact
- Stratagems: RS-422 Railgun, SH-32 Shield Generator Pack, Eagle 500KG Bomb, and Orbital Laser
Posts complaining about this issue flooded the subreddit, to the point where even other players were sick of it. One post openly called out the circlejerk, saying:
I clocked in 120 hours of game time on steam. And in those hours, I have been kicked twice. One for first joining the game on difficulty 5 when I was at lvl 10 in a lobby of 2x, and the second time was when a random host rage quit at me cause I carried the entire team samples and chose to extract since the extraction point was swarmed with terminids on diff 8.
They acknowledged it occurs but insisted it’s uncommon, emphasizing Helldiver‘s strong gaming community. Despite occasional issues due to the game’s popularity, they clarified it’s not the norm.
The problem seems blown out of proportion; players rarely face issues with loadouts, if at all. A majority of the Helldivers 2 community seems focused on having fun—and crazy enough, they still get to win! Who would’ve thought being a meta slave isn’t the be-all and end-all?
With Fixed Servers, Helldivers’ Popularity Knows No Bounds
It’s no secret that Arrowhead Game Studios had a rough start during the launch of the Helldivers sequel.
Servers immediately crumbled under the pressure of the hundreds of thousands of players attempting to get a taste of the game. Fans begged one another to log off in hopes that they could make it in.
The team promptly fixed the issue, and the game’s all-time player peak hit a whopping 450k in no time. It’s not been a month since its release, and Helldivers 2 continues to be the talk of the town as people eagerly hop on board to save the Earth and spread democracy throughout the universe.
