Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2 is all about conquering and democracy, all for the benefit of Super Earth. But what is this much-talked-about land, and how did it come into being? After all, when you are risking your life for the furthering of an empire, it makes sense to know that empire’s origin.
Super Earth is the name of the land the Helldivers fight for, but is it a new planet? An Earth from another dimension? An alternate timeline? Well, one X user feels it’s much more simple than that, and we are more familiar with Super Earth than we think!
Super Earth From Helldivers 2 Is a Planet We All Know
This theory, or shower thought, comes from X user thinkiamsad, who drafted an entire thread on this idea. He starts by stating something every Helldivers fan must have thought of once: “What makes Super Earth ‘Super’?” Well, it turns out there’s no real explanation, and Arrowhead bestowed the name on the planet with no context.
for everyone saying that this is because Super Earth is a different planet than regular Earth:
this map of Super Earth was posted to the official Helldivers Discord by Johan Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead
would be some pretty crazy terraforming to create this on another planet pic.twitter.com/MNUTcvqQIN

They tried to come up with a comparison to speak on the absurdity of the idea but found that simply adding a superlative to the name of our planet is hilarious. Given that it wears the Starship Troopers inspiration on its sleeve, Helldivers 2 is all about hamming it up with the patriotism rhetoric.
They even posted a map of Super Earth shared by Johan Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead, from the Helldivers 2 Discord. The shared image is an extremely close match to the continental layout of our regular Earth.
However, there are some differences. It appears something dire has happened to the UK, as not only has it become a Wasteland since the last Great War, but it has also lost a decent chunk of its landmass. Borders are also nonexistent in the Helldivers 2 future, with vast swathes of continents divided by just sectors.
Super Earth Also Has Some Interesting Features and Locations
On the map, we also see certain locations colored red as Restricted Areas, and others covered with yellow and black stripes to denote a Wasteland from the last Great War. While Helldivers 2 may seem like a simple enough game, there is some lore to it. It may not be as intricate as a FromSoftware game, but it’s enough to make you want to push for democracy.
We see several labeled locations as well, such as the various Mega Cities on the map, along with Prosperity City. There are also the Pyramids of Super Earth, Superstone Park, and the Great Wall of Democracy.
With the concurrent player base of Helldivers 2 still going strong, we expect the fight for Super Earth supremacy to continue long into the future. We can also expect to continue reading more fan theories and tales from the front in the various online communities.
