Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves starred together in Speed (1994) and then in The Lake House (2006). Back then, there weren’t any rumors about the two of them dating or even having crushes on each other. However, that changed when a few years ago Bullock confessed that she had a crush on Reeves. So fans wondered what a potential relationship between the two Hollywood stars would have been like. Later on, Bullock gave her thoughts on a potential relationship between the two.
Sandra Bullock Talks About Potential Keanu Reeves Relationship
In an interview with Esquire, Sandra Bullock put all the rumors of her and Keanu Reeves dating to rest. She confirmed that they aren’t dating and neither did they ever date. However, the actress said that if they had been in a relationship, she would have been in awe of him. The actress said:
“‘Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated. I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him,’. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know. But we didn’t have to survive anything. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being. Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.”
Bullock and Reeves both confessed that they crushed on each other during two separate episodes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Bullock said during her 2018 appearance that “I think about how sweet Keanu Reeves was and how handsome he was. It was hard for me to really be serious. He would look at me and I’d be like [giggles].” Reeves in his episode reciprocated the sentiment and said, “She obviously didn’t know I had a crush on her either.” However, even though they didn’t date, Bullock has nothing but positive things to say about her Speed co-star.
Sandra Bullock Praises Keanu Reeves’ Caring Nature
In her Esquire interview, Sandra Bullock praised Keanu Reeves’ caring personality. The Hollywood veteran said that at first the John Wick star’s quiet nature confused her, but later on she realized just how thoughtful and kind he was. The actress said:
“When I first met him, I would spend as much time as I could filling a silence, just to feel comfortable. And the more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get. And I thought, I don’t understand what’s happening! He’s looking at me with eyes of confusion. He’s quiet. Did I say something to offend him? And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package, saying, ‘I thought about what you said.’ And he would have his response.”

Bullock detailed one such incident where Reeves was exceedingly kind. The actress said that once she and Reeves were hanging out a year after Speed released and the actress told her co-star that she has never tasted truffles and champagne. Reeves was surprised by her admission but didn’t say anything further.
As per Bullock, he appeared a few days later at her house with flowers, champagne and truffles. He said, “I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles, to see what it’s like.” Reeves, Bullock and one of her friends enjoyed the truffles and champagne, and the actress also gave Reeves a black manicure. After Speed, Reeves and Bullock worked together again on The Lake House (2006), but not after that. Fans would love to see both of them together again in a project.
