One Piece paraphernalia has featured characters from almost every aspect of the spectrum. These characters have in some way or another affected the viewers and left their impact on them. However, these impressions might not always be good. Sometimes the individual narrative of the character annoys the fans to the point that they develop hatred towards them.

One such character who has been deemed as one of the most annoying One Piece characters is Caribou, the co-captain of the Caribou Pirates. Caribou made his first appearance in One Piece after the time skip, and ever since then, he has been featured as a secondary character in almost every narrative. But he has only been placed for minor roles.

While fans don’t understand his importance in the story, recent endeavors of Caribou have forced fans to theorize that he might have some kind of significant role in the final saga that would pose a threat to Luffy and the other Straw Hat Pirates.

One Piece Has Never Seen A Character As Annoying As Caribou

Even though Caribou is not one of the major antagonistic characters, his actions have proved that he does not have the best interest in mind for anyone or anything. When he was at Fish-Man Island, he decided to capture mermaids using his Devil Fruit to sell them later on the slave market. Not only that, he even tried to kidnap Shirahoshi but was stopped by Luffy.

The most annoying aspect of Caribou’s character is his Devil Fruit, the Swamp-Swamp Fruit. It is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to create, control, and transform into mud at will. It also works as a bottomless swamp where he can store anything and use it whenever required. While it may look like a strong ability, it is quite irritating for many One Piece fans.

The most infuriating thing that Caribou did was inform the Blackbeard Pirates, Van Augur, and Catarina Devoun about the location of the Ancient Weapon, Poseidon, in One Piece chapter 1108. This was annoying for One Piece fans because Luffy helped Caribou reach Egghead, and he stabbed him in the back by telling his biggest enemy the most crucial information.

Eiichiro Oda Might Have Big Plans For Caribou

Ideally, Eiichiro Oda does not extend such characters for so long, but it looks like the mangaka has some significant role for Caribou. This assumption arises from the fact that he is one of the very few Logia-type Devil Fruit users, and Logia is considered to be one of the rarest and strongest Devil Fruit kind in the One Piece universe.

Additionally, he is one of the only few characters who knows about the location of an Ancient Weapon, which holds a lot of importance in the story, especially the final saga.

If the Blackbeard Pirates agree to his request of taking him and using his information, it would cause mayhem and could possibly ignite the fire of the final One Piece war.

Thus, despite being the most infuriating and irritating character in One Piece, Caribou has the power to bring a big change in the narrative. As for now, it all depends on Oda as to how he uses the character and how his actions affect One Piece.
