Currently, the chapters are showing an epic fight between Luffy and Saturn, one of the Five Elders, and although Luffy seems to be dominating the fight, he is unable to hurt Saturn in any way, and to top it all off Saturn has summoned the rest of the Elders to help him stop Luffy and Vegapunk’s message to the world.

However, another interesting thing was happening at the other side of the Egghead Island. Caribou, who has been following the Straw Hats has met the Blackbeard Pirates and is trying to become a part of their crew. And to do that he is offering a sensitive piece of information that may make a dreaded Luffy prophecy come true.

What is the Prophecy Regarding Luffy?

When Luffy was on Fish-Man Island, a character called Madam Shyarly revealed a prophecy regarding Luffy. Shyarly was a fortune teller before she decided to throw away her crystal ball. Upon seeing Luffy for the first time, Shyarly couldn’t resist checking her crystal ball and seeing someone wearing a straw hat destroying Fish-Man Island.

She then stepped outside onto Coral Hill’s streets and yelled for everyone to track out Luffy and drive him off the island. Madam Shyarly envisions him standing between the flames with a determined expression on his face. Luffy’s involvement in the prophecy indicates that, though no one knows when this will occur, it won’t be too far off.

This prophecy appeared unusual at first, but she didn’t add anything about whether he would demolish Fish-Man Island out of spite or by mistake. The recent events in One Piece Chapter 1107 might make the prophecy come true, as Luffy won’t destroy the Fish-Man Island intentionally, but while fighting Blackbeard.

According to One Piece chapter 1107, Caribou wanted to see Blackbeard Pirates captain Marshall D. Teach. He asked Teach’s subordinates: Van Augur and Catarina Devon who were present at the Egghead Island to assist in bringing him to his idol so that he might deliver some important information to Blackbeard.

As a result of his involvement with the Straw Hats since the Fish-Man Island arc, Caribou is aware of the whereabouts of the ancient weapon that the group found on the island. If he shares the information with Blackbeard, he is obligated to pursue Shirahoshi (The Ancient Weapon Poseidon).

Furthermore, since Luffy promised to protect his comrades and the Fish-Man island is his territory, he would come to their aid. This could spark a full-fledged conflict between the Blackbeard Pirates and the Straw Hat Pirates, and Luffy’s Gear 5 could demolish Fish-Man Island in the process as seen during the Onigashima battle and in the recent fights in Egghead.
